    Love these talking practice videos! Re: the need to re-learn everything again, i feel that. Yesterday i tried to make a very simple video of me running 5 club triples without taking steps/walking around/ moving my feet. Guess what - i can't. FAIL. I am now re-teaching myself how the hell to throw fast accurate triples. Thanks for making these videos. Best from Germany.

      It's actually a lot less frustrating to practice like this because I'm finally practicing the level I'm supposed to be at, and not trying to do the whole routine today. All that goes out the window when a club bashes your thumb though

      Thanks - I have one more practice session to edit before all practice areas closed down. But I'll pick it back up as soon as possible

    I really enjoy this format where you talk about technique points while you practice. When I practice it's always hard to know exactly what to focus on so it's interesting to hear your take.

      Thanks - I think I started this format with.the "Training for the WJF Retro Performance" series. I was thinking there's no juggling I can show that people haven't seen before, so let's show the mistakes and explain them :)

    Really enjoying these practice videos. I throw it on while I do some computer work. Having the dry, sarcastic commentary is strangely pleasing.

    Very interesting! I just watched the backcrosses part from Gatto's routine on CZcams at 0.25x speed and it seems he isn't at all sliding the clubs before throwing them. Until now I wrongly thought more or less everyone was throwing backcrosses from the knobs.

    Awesome video! I been trying to do back crosses. Be cool to meet you someday in person from Seattle WA

    That's great , if anyone has the ability to do this patterns through a pure balance of strength and finnese rather than speed and balance it's got to be you . Results so fare look so much more professional than the original , could be the modern tech that's now available , not nocking the artistry involved ..... 😀 .

    Jason I love these videos! You talking through your thought process helps my progress a ton! Keep putting them up please! I only recommend you eliminate the cussing. I'm not a prude or anything, but I watched these types of videos as a kid and if my parents had heard that language they would have made me stop watching and I really would have missed out on the instructional value. I would hate for kids today to miss out for the same reason.

    So I guess you tried the technique with no sliding since that's the way Anthony used to do it? Maybe after this you could try Willy's 5 club routine :p

    If you have videos and permission, could you cut in video of Anthony's routine that you are referencing?

    • @JasonGarfield
      @JasonGarfield  Před 4 lety

      Probably not, it's easy enough to look up and not worth trying to get permission

  • @TheThomaswastaken
    @TheThomaswastaken Před 4 lety

    The intent of changing your hand position away from the knob is to slow down the spin and enjoy a more natural double rotation, instead of the triple rotation you are used to?

    • @JasonGarfield
      @JasonGarfield  Před 4 lety

      No it was just to see if it made it easier to throw a perfect backcross in doubles. Triples can spin just as natural as doubles, it's just a different look.

      Sure - I'll try to get to that in the next couple weeks. That'll be a frustrating one!

    You can’t even do one trick he does 100%. If you can prove it... 5x 5 club 3 up pirouettes in one take. He does 2x 3 up pirouettes in his routine. Seriously. Enjoy juggling for what it is and don’t attempt heights you and nobody will ever reach other than A.G. Which by the way you refused to acknowledge for decade that he’s the best. Vova tried to be (and I admit he was your project and creation) but even he can’t run seven clubs on stage under pressure. I wish I was usain bolt. Am I? No! Reality and Fiction are not the same thing. Dictionaries don’t cost much and explain the difference between those 2 words.

      Hi Jason. Ignore the negativity this spider is slinging at you. You are a huge inspiration and have pushed juggling technique, progress and appreciation in the world way more than Commarota ever did. You actually interact with, value, and appreciate your fans. I remember you doing requests for me at both 1990 and 1991 IJA cons. Cheers man. Keep up these cool videos!

    • @JasonGarfield
      @JasonGarfield  Před 4 lety

      Ha - the extent of my requests was put to the test in 2000 when (I think it was) Alan Knutson cornered me and used me as a sitewap simulator :)

      And this is why humanity is doomed. Because everyone knows that what I said is true,... but due to people having their head in the sand rather than face reality... is why improvement falls amongst deaf ears.
