I'm a Hank Jr fan, but , this version is so damn good. The Flaming Lips knocked this out of the park. Great version. Kudos.
After the film finished I was too tired to reach for the remote control and this song started to play. I went into a trance without realising and this song blew me away. Peaceful and dark at the same time. Wow
That happened to me awhile ago with another movie. I just had to find that song afterwards.

This is legit one of my favorite cover songs ever done aside from type o negatives cover of summer breeze. Such a killer tune, it really set the mood for that closing scene.

I rented Arkansas from Redbox and I liked it. The closing song was haunting and I had to find it 💛❤💖.
It was very haunting. Just her driving by herself and this song playing. Almost a tear jerker.

What a tune
Watched this movie days after ot came out, it blew me away, i knew it was an instant classic. But after watching the end and thinking "damn, thats fucking amazing" the credits start to roll and seeing the girl driving with the amazing visuals of the street lights reflect perfect off the car and her face, then hearing this song immediately made me cry, like tears started to flow put of nowhere to my surprise but something so beautiful happened i couldn't understand but it was beautiful.

This movie is so awesome too. I had to do a double take to make sure I had just seen the flaming lips cameo. They covered all these songs in such a flaming lips fashion, it's hard not to love everything about this. Wondering why nobody can get this tune from Apple Music!! Somebody’s blocking it. Most likely Hank. I love both versions. Also loved their cover of Country Boy can Survive. Can’t get it anywhere. I looked all over!! I Shazamed it, and it came up, but when I tried to play it on Apple Music, it keeps showing the screen if you wanna buy a monthly plan. I have a monthly plan already.
Had to hit the Shazam App at the end of the movie to find out what song this was.
The movie was a welcomed change of pace from the usual Hollywood BS. This remake was a perfect fit for the ending.

There are idiots out there who actually gave this a thumbs down. You do wonder.
The Lips went autotune, and it works for so many who don't know any better. It aint no She Don't Use Jelly but it will do since I love these outside bands. I'm happy they are still cranking out the weird.
It's not auto tune per se. It's a vocoder where the voice is modulated. That's what gives it that "robot/ computer " tone to it. Pitch correction is different.
Either way, the tonal structure of the harmonies was juicy. They had a lot of movement going on. Modal.
