      Everything I have seen from her is awful. She is the source of the woke filth that is destroying so many movies. She turned the beloved classic, A Wrinkle in Time into a steaming turd. She took amazing source material and managed to make it horrible.

      However, they’re both extraordinary. It’ll be interesting to see how you break down why they’re not on the same level creatively or are you just responding just to feel important. Bc last I checked the entrepreneurial/ marketing part of TP came in the latter part of his career. Although he is a creative genius as well, hence how he got where he’s at

    Even as a white male, I have an immense amount of respect for Ava. Anybody who is outspoken and passionate about who they are is an inspiration in my opinion, personally I am disabled so I have a tiny bit of an understanding of what it’s like to be part of a marginalized community that is underrepresented in the media, and I’m currently in film school so I have to be aware of how difficult it is for someone who is part of a marginalized community to become successful in the entertainment industry. I do have a lot of respect for Ava because she did what any person in my shoes dreams of doing, defying the odds and being successful. I’m inclined to think that she’s been told she can’t do certain things because she is a woman of color, I can relate to that albeit to a less extreme extent. And as someone who struggled a lot with my identity as a disabled person, I wish I were as outspoken and unapologetic as she is. She’s a badass and I mean that in the best way possible!

    I would agree her films are for a specific audience, and I am not one of them. Now she is making a New Gods film...WB needs to take a look at A Wrinkle In Time with the $100 million plus budget and cancel New Gods and wait til they have the foundation set for a reboot DC universe. One does not simply tell the story of New Gods without context....which Zack Snyder was telling perfectly until WB got too touchy

      Groundbreaking in her career. She's been the first black woman to be nominated / win some monumental awards. That says something about her skills even if you might not like her films.

    • @suzi_in_zone6B
      @suzi_in_zone6B Před 3 lety +3

      Mark Allen you clearly don’t recall how biased the film industry was when it came to handing out awards and nominations to POC in the years she was being recognized. You’ve spent a lot of energy trying to speak over what others see in her art, and her gift...as if your opinion has more worth, carries more weight than theirs. It doesn’t. You appear small, petty, jilted, and daft. When you lose to a woman, it’s because she cheated or you let her win. You’re a dime a dozen.

    • @suzi_in_zone6B
      @suzi_in_zone6B Před 3 lety +3

      Mark Allen no idea who or what you’re referring to. Were you dumped by a Black Woman or did you lose a promotion to one? What is it specifically about Black Women that’s so problematic for you?

      Mark Allen JPS is the monolith for Black performers??? 🥱 You said “every time black performers aren’t nominated for an award they see it as racist.” You’re implicitly biased and you should address it. You are well versed in tidbits that confirm your biases, do you ever seek information that challenges them?

  • @Thrill_House
    @Thrill_House Před 3 lety +1

    She did it by exploiting union contracts to pay the people who make her social justice programming half of what every other union production does. Many productions have the right to pay you the bare minimum, but Ava and her Daft Productions is the only one Ive ever worked for that exercised that option. Ava, why? Why, why, why? You are kind, your are empathetic - you have made incredible works of art that shed light on moments where people without power have been under the thumbs of those with power. That dynamic happens between high profile producers like yourself and the people who work for you - you hold the power, Ava, why do you consistently pay people as little as you can get away with? You are airing on major platforms, your projects have grand budgets and make a lot of money, why do you not think it is appropriate for that to get to the people that make your movies and tv shows? Where is the social justice in that, Ava?

    She's a person who puts people into moral categories according to their race (by the way, that's called a "racist"). But people are not first groups or "communities," but individuals - some good, some evil - does not matter the color of your skin (as Dr. King said). Her views are the last thing America needs, if we are ever going to make progress coming together.
