COVID-19 has struck close to home for the "Windy City LIVE" team. Comedian Erica Watson, who was a frequent guest, died of the disease in February 2021 and now co-host Ryan Chiaverini & executive producer Hank Mendheim have both experienced "breakthrough" cases despite being vaccinated due to the highly contagious delta variant. Dr. Purvi Parikh joined Chiaverini and co-host Val Warner to discuss the delta variant, "breakthrough" case symptoms, the potential of a COVID vaccine booster shot, and the vaccine & masks' efficacy against delta.
