Addiction is a horrible situation. I really didn't want to see Finn going down this route, but what is striking about this storyline is that it's showing the impact on those around him. I think more addiction storylines need to address the negative impact on family, friends, and coworkers. Just because an addict gets sober, which is fantastic in every aspect, doesn't mean the trail left for others doesn't have lifelong impacts and consequences. A good story line would be for Finn to somehow impair himself and his having to deal with losing his ability as a surgeon and becoming a professor like his father. Sometimes soaps best moments come out of the hardest storylines. I also think it'd be great to see GH put an addiction hotline number at the end of a 'tough' episode. Whether or not one likes this story line, he is an incredible actor with outstanding performances in this latest twist.

Where is Violet? Unless she's at Chase and BL apartment (talked about but not seen in the tiny apt) or at Elizabeth's with Aiden, b/c even Finn would not leave his daughter alone by herself at that age

I think that if Elizabeth wasn't concerned about Finn, she would have known Jake was lying by omission.
It's not fair to speculate, but that recast was abrupt and out of nowhere. Tristan also looks a lot like Enzo, so I kinda wonder if A) Enzo didn't want to kiss boys or B) his schedule didn't allow enough shooting time to create a long storyline for Aiden. Either of those scenarios would explain a sudden recast by a similar looking actor.
The only reason I float A out there is because that did happen on "Days" when Dylan Patton was playing Will Horton. They recast him with Chandler and the rest is history.

My heart breaks for Jake, first Franco dies and then his mom finally is happy again, and Jake is the one who has to witness Finn cheating on his mom. I'm not happy that they are going down this path with Finn, but I hope they do a good job at showing the affects of addiction on, not just the person, but the loved ones, too. Fingers cross Liz and Finn make it out stronger, as I really don't want Liz and Jason for the umpteenth time. Or maybe some Cassadine magic and Franco is somehow alive somewhere.
@yvyv8019 I have only heard rumors about ME leaving the show. Easton was recently photographed along with the ensamble cast and was on set when ABC recently held that stage dedication. They don't have to kill the character off to break up a couple that never worked.

(Thats one of many 'slogans' ppl say in AA). Here's another one: "it's not the alcohol that'll get ya, it's the "ISM"(meaning there are underlying issues that need to be addressed). Guilt and shame is a topic of discussion at AA meetings. Even though Finn and his dad 'resolved' the issues around Finn and his dad's wife having an affair on their wedding night, Finn still felt bad.
I myself am an alcoholic (in recovery) and think the writers are doing a good service for others that might have a problem. Alcoholism is a disease like Chase said. There is no cure but there is help. It takes time.

That was 9+ years ago. Last check my liver is fine. I can see why ppl don't like storylines they can't relate to. All I can say is keep an open mind

Alcoholism is a disease that affects millions of ppl everyday. There is no cure. Liz turned her back on Finn before this latest escapade. Hopefully this storyline shows people that there is help for the alcoholic and they are not alone.
