- Joe Dassin was born in New York City in 1938 and was a French chanson singer, composer and writer. The cinema director Jules Dassin and the violinist Béatrice Launer were his parents. While working for Radio RTL in Paris in 1963, a press officer at a record label suggested that he should record a single. As a result, "Je change un peu de vent" was released in March 1965. His greatest successes came in the 1970s with songs like "Les Champs-Élysées, the French versions "Ma Musique" from Rod Stewart's "Sailing" and "L'été indien" from Albatros' "Africa" and "L'Amérique". He also sang "La fleur aux dents" and "Ça va pas changer le monde". His album "Septemberwind" became very successful in Germany and he sang well-known songs in German such as "In Versailles in dem großen Garten", "Schöne Grüße an Mama" and "Es gibt Mädchen so zum Träumen". He died at the age of 41 as a result of a heart attack.
Spotlight was a music programme for young people broadcast by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) between 1968 and 1978. It was the equivalent of Beat Club or Musikladen in Germany. - Hudba
