My car has these codes. Just replaced cam chain, cam follower, and the I ring on the fpfp, I broke the sensor harness, but it still clicked in. I'm guessing that's my problem.
I have a P2293 on 2012 Tiguan 2.0T, was there any ticking noise coming from this engine your showing ??
Have a 2007 a3 2.0t. Put in New motor. It's showing p2293 p0087 p0089. The cam follower was done with new motor. About a week after new motor put in for these codes and no power. Not Only was cam follower done. Did new fuel filter. New fuel pump. New fuel regulator sensor on high pressure pump. New fuel relays. Gonna try next the fuel pressure regylator on fuel rail hidden undee intake next. Then the seloniod piece that is on high preasure pump. Figure replace these 2 pieces rather than pump. But if it's not regulator on fuel rail or bad seloniod on piece to high preasure pump in out of ideas. This weekend gonna strip off intake manifold and redo that. Then get junk yard high pressure pump

Im getting p2293 then miles later im getting p12a4. Takes a mile or two for first code. Car drives fine. Cam looks fine. Replaced follower and hpfp from a doner car that i have. swapped fuel pump. Swapped rail sensor. Still cant get the code to stop coming back. 2010 audi a4 quattro
hi, i have audi a4 b7 2.0t fsi s-line. I have the following problem two eror code (p2293 fuel pressure regulator 2) and (p0087 fuel rail/system pressure -to low) The engine runs very poorly. what is the problem?
I have another fsi engine nd have the same problem with the engine that is istill on my car what is cheaper to swap whole engine or just replace those parta?

Old thread but I heard thrust sensor can be a problem. Might only be 06-07 though

Jesse bradford more than likely yes. I would suggest following the steps in this video and taking a look for damage. These are very common to fail
So what if you change the hpfp without changing the cam follower ???
It will likely fail again soon after. Or maybe you'll get lucky.

Crystal Hernandez honestly I don't recall offhand. I'm sorry. Best bet is to call the dealer and get a price and then call maybe one or two other shops and get a price. Prices vary by region quite a bit

Okay so you think it wouldn’t be the fuel pump that is in the fuel tank? More likely to be the high pressure fuel pump ?
