I’m a beginner, but this is where my head wants to go on steel. What a killer lesson! Bud and Albert kick it where it needs to be! Two masters.

I was there and it was the first and only time I have ever seen Buddy play live, my best mate Jim Smith was there with me, and we both realised we had a long way to go as steel players. I remember asking Buddy how he found playing through two steel amps, (I meant the sound) and he answered, I just came on stage and and found them set up ready for me.

I agree with you - this is a gift. I’ve watched Buddy Emmons on several other videos but this one just came out of nowhere. Can you even imagine playing in this band? That guitar player is playing a Les Paul Special. I owned one just like it in the ‘70’s. I bought it used for $100. I definitely didn’t play that good..

  • @glennchristie2316

It had to be a Pleasure just to be part of that band. Such Professionalism.. We think it’s all over when the artist dies - then an Unknown comes into view and it begins all over again - Thankfully..

@@derekmoore6265 I thought your naming of Ralph Mooney meant you liked him better than Buddy.
Buddy had taste that was overflowing. Paul Franklin said many years ago, what made Buddy Emmons the greatest was "taste" more than all the others have ......I agree with Paul Franklin and the majority of the worlds steel guitarists ......Buddy was the greatest . Big E .
