I liked very much the house's renovation, the old blueprint, the material, in all, have historic means and valour. I'm an appreciator of historic things. As always, educational videos. Congratulations!!!
I saw one other western documentary and he said after looking at the bed that accommodation was not adequate and they cannot even afford beds whereas in this the guide told them in the beginning that this is a tradition.... so much playing down of the facts by western journalists..... so bad
Which is so weird, because as a "westerner" I think it's absolutely charming, and I know for a fact that the level of upkeep needed for historical style places like this isn't exactly "cheap". I would die to have a home like that, it's gorgeous.
The guide with the glasses actually talked some major BS. Ginseng is not safe to consume by pregnant women, it may lead to miscarriage. Also, the thing she said about the C being replaced by K by the Japanese is not true at all. Both spelling versions were common and used by Korean transcribers even pre-Japanese occupation.
I thought it was a garbled up mess from the days of the Silk Road. Same with "Japan's" name. Goryeo (Joseon) and Nippon, were correct while the names in western vernacular come from the worse game of telephone ever?
You talk rudely for saying something that is incorrect. The Japanese tried to erase Korean names and replaced them with Japanese names and their genocide was real. In fact they went much further than what she describes.
well you have to listen to their perspective too, there is soo much western propganda but then some of the things which she mentioned are also real facts
The reason why Korea is spelled with "K" is simply because the letter "C" can have multiple sounds in English, so it would be unclear how to pronounce it. That's the reason, not the nonsense that this woman said.
I don't understand these comments, are you pretending to be surprised ? It's obvious she is ethnic Chinese, she looks 100% Chinese, not Korea a bit. There are Chinese in North Korea just as there are Chinese everywhere. Of course her whole family kept Chinese language even if she was schooled in Korean language. Maybe some Chinese cannot see the difference, but it's obvious. Both guides are ethnic Chinese with a Korean passport.
Both spellings were used before the Japanese occupation and the Korean government pre-Japan preferred the K spelling. both spellings continue to be used today.
@@ian72marian It shouldn't be reunification in the style of Germany. It should be a gradual reunification where first there is economic and political cooperation between two sovereign state entities who are both Korea, which first means that the US needs to stop occupying the south Korea so that it becomes independent again.
@@CommunistBot You are right, Russian have long gone from North Korea and from East Germany. Usa is an evil country fomenting and interfering with sovereign states, it has no business to be in S Korea. No matter what happens i consider North Korea to be Korea, and South Korea is a puppet of the USa. I hope South Korean will one day have the honesty to admit they have betrayed their ancestors and reject all their ties with the USa and accept to become part of Korea. Maybe it's Usa that needs to come down in North america first for that to happen.
Thank you for this. It as ever shows the areas N Korea wants us to see but even so is interesting. However that idea that Ginseng is good for everything just shows how uneducated they are - it may be good for some things but can be dangerous for others. It probably reflects a shortage for them of medicines which work. The dislike of the Japanese by Koreans north and south is understood although it is time to let it go as most of us have in the West about past atrocities against us.
you do know that it's not the North Koreans who believe it, throughout China, Taiwan, South Korea they are crazy about this root, it has nothing to do with uneducated, its tradition. In India, we have traditional medicine and if you talk to a doctor who is not a naturopath he will say are you stupid to take that medicine but people take it because this is what was used when modern medicine was not there. so we should not say they are uneducated
It's a common word in China of course with a different meaning, (i think it means "you" or "yours') but yes it sounds exactly like nigga.. f.. nigga. At least they are not admitted in that part of the world. Not all of humankind is naive and self destructive. Chinese know exactly what the Western problems are with ..... "you"

아름다운 전통가옥들이 잘보존 되고 있네요~
Love seeing the historical district! I wish I could also sit on my porch and watch the moon and stars one night...
This film shows the normal side of north korea.
The glasses one seemed to spew lots of propaganda stuff. That's one more reason to love Xiao Jin.

Nice videos. Tks.

5:51 flies in a food packet, any western vlogger would have made fun of it
Quite a typical scene at any "western" market place or bazaar
Qiuli always improves my mood and her husband is relaxing.
Her Chinese is so good omg
Many north Koreans work abroad in China, maybe this is where she learned

That bit about "Korea" being changed from "Corea" by the Japanese is something I've never heard before. Is it propaganda or truth?
Not true actually. It is just urban myth.

In Romanian it's spelled Coreea
In Spanish it's Corea.
Portugal Is Corea not Korea

통일!....in the hope of unification....
Why? SK will lose a lot of money for this, ppl in SK will compete with those from North which will work for lower income.

No, Trump is just an idiot. Like Obama.
連離散家屬都不認識, 也說是拍紀錄片?
拍的是观光片,不是纪录片啊
the north korean video is very interesting. am always worried whether actual people have been displaced, forced or staged for the sake of tourists
Rest assured your disillusion is caused by western media propaganda.
Why would they be? You seem to have watched too much CNN
Every youtube video on dprk is a propaganda video
