If you fuck around enough and somehow, probably by means of black magic tech sorcery and human sacrifice, you can probably tweak it into running in DirectX 9.0c, if that is possible, theoretically we should be able to get it running in VR with basic controller support even for touch controls. VorpX can deal with most games running DirectX 9.0 so as long as you use that API it should be possible!
@@kylethomas9130 Arrows are broken tbh, don't get balistics, now your archer blob will hit thanks to straggler shots and the enemy inf gets staggered into oblivion. You can even crush silver paladins with this tactic.
Using Age of Mythology engine as a base, an Elder Scrolls RTS would be amazing. The races as the different factions, Nords having units like Companion (hero unit bonus damage against elves), Tongue (Hero unit which uses elemental shouts), Imperials having Legionnaire (unit with higher armor and pierce armor in larger groups), Penitus Oculatus Agent (spy unit which becomes invisible when stationary) etc, Dark Elves having units like Telvanni Magister (ranged flying hero unit), Redoran Vanguard (Simple fast infantry), and so on, including mythic units like Giants, Ogres, Minotaurs, War bears, even Necromancers which can resurrect a recently dead unit nearby, and even DRAGONS. So awesome!
There is LAN multiplayer, it automatically detects clients that have an open lobby. I have older Videos of the game showing this. I basically created everything to support Multiplayer from the beginning
So cool to see this game in a CZcams Video played by people. Awesome that you guys like the game. I know the guy who made that game. He actually sent me the link to the Video. He developed the engine behind the game completely from scratch. He started with Blender and wrote his own Software for his game-making. He is from Austria. I followed a lot of his stuff and used to study and live with him a few months. I dont want to give out his Name. But there will be more from him.
Cooler in concept than in practice. If you've ever tried playing commander mode in Battlefield 2142, you'll know that getting real people to accept fictional authority isn't very feasible or fun. People would follow squad leaders, but could give a shit about commanders or who won a round. For every rp you'll have two lone-wolfs and a squad of griefers running hacks. It was half-arsed at best and it was still WAY less complex than the simplest of RTS would be.
Have you ever played foxhole? It's basically an RTS where everyone is a player. People tend to co-ordinate reasonably well, even on a global scale. It doesn't have any formal chain of command, but people can form squads and will generally do whatever the most experienced players say, and if people ask for something (men, weapons, resources, etc) there will usually be plenty of people across the mapwho want to try to help them get it.
Next time just mod AoE2 campaigns, music, sprites, and voices into Empire Earth and you can save like, 3 days of development! Also this is literally totally awesome.
Imagine a combined RTS/ FPS where you can switch between playing as the units and playing as the 'overseer'. Or, team games where one person controls armies and the economy, and other players on your team play as heroes in the same game.
Rise and Fall: Civilizations at War is exactly what you're talking about. It was an extremely fun and horribly underrated game that didn't get the love it deserved. you play RTS like AOE but you can control your hero in First person and RTS mode
I have seen a similar thing many years ago. There's an unknown game called "Savage". It was released somewhere in 2000s. The game was actually pretty good. It's an RTS, but you can also switch to FP mode, and control any unit. You can work on a gold mine as a peasant or build structures, in first person. Didn't expect anybody ever creating a FP for AOE ever.
remind me of one of those weird dreams i had when i was younger. I would see 2 d game in 3d for some reason and it would look kinda like graphics in this video 3d versions of 2d graphics.
would be cool if some ppl get behind this and make it look good and add the rest thats missing, if u could then play it on a server with like 200 vs 200( each person controlls one unit) and if there was even a pvp system would be great,( unrealistic obv. but id play it :P)
"Sword fighter" really triggered my inner historical re-enactor. Militia would never be able to afford a sword. Those things were like the equivalent worth of a ******* ferrari!
Oooh, 3D Doom-like Age of Empires! Acrtually a 3D AOE2 would be the bomb. The first person is novel, but cumbersome. Could be really fun for an adventure map, like Joan of Arc's first scen, or the beginning of the Attila campaign, or the third scenario of El Cid.
This reminds of Battlezone 1 and Battlezone 2 combat commander. Two games with supergood potential if it was remade today. Could be played as first person, third person or bird view and it was heavily based on the RTS concept aswell as you had to be a good shooter in a space tank. Check it out if this looks fun :P
And as i see now, it was remade with new graphics in 2018. You'll find it on steam, Battlezone: Combat Commander. For those who would like to try first person rts :P
I've been playing first person AOE since Minecraft implemented mods..... what's your point? IN FACT! the Teuton castle is included, in Ancient Warfare 2. along with a bunch of AOE-style buildings.
Dungeon Keeper was also an RTS that had a first person element. You could posses your creatures and fight with them using your brain, which as we all know, is much better than the AI. I think it would be really cool if you could take control of your units that way in this mod. Then you really could fire arrows down at your enemy in first person.
Looks cool, very disappointing that the towers and castles don't shoot yet, but it's great to see a rare 1st person RTS, even in such a crude form. I love the use of OG sprites, wish that were done in more cases (stone, gold, berries could be done this way instead of rendered as polygons I think). Might be a bit much to render buildings as a giant sprite that constantly turns to watch you.
Remember when RPG actually innovated? Dungeon Keeper, Homeworld, Myth, Populous 3, Sacrifice, Dawn of War. It was a fun few years. Ever since devs and publishers found out how much money Dota could make, the genre has completely stagnated.
If this game gets a bit more support it could revolutionise the whole RTS genre and could become one of the greatest games of the genre! May sound a bit exaggerated but I'm reeeeally excited!
Lol it is from the 23rd. I was a steam 1650 player. I hope we can get RTS on controller someday. We need programable paddles like and elite controller gyroscopes and rear touch pads.

I'd pay actual money if they'd make a proper, quality RTS of the civil war part though...

You start with chopping tree to get wood, turn it to 4 wood planks and build crafting table with it. Then collect 200 food to invent wheelbarrow
I was 100% sure this is clickbait but jeez I was hella wrong.
Same but it’s actually better than I thought it could be
