The Flyers’ 10th State Championship! East St. Louis has won more high school football games than any high school in the State of Illinois.
And our team is so young! 16 out of all 22 starters are returning and most of them are sophomores! I don’t see how they wouldn’t 3peat for the next few years.

Total domination!!! Sunkett is brilliant in that he has the toughest non-conference schedule in the beginning and breezes through the conference and most of the state playoff games!!!
Darren Sunkett is one of the most brightest lights that's has came through our lives. He has touched soooooo many of us in ways that's unexplainable. Words can't explain. But his actions does. We Love you first as a human being. And I know that as a coach, u have touched and educated us as well. PEACE!
When I saw how good the flyers played against St Frances in week 2 (top 5 in the nation) I knew it was a wrap this year. GO Flyers!!
This was essentially men vs boys. The size and the speed was absolutely massive.

That slot T is a crazy offense to defend, you really don’t need size for that type of offense, just need guys who gone block and ready for contact on every play, same goes for the defense you really need some head busters and your players to stay disciplined to defend that slot T because they coming at you every play, but I salute them Flyers for staying disciplined and not getting down because they scored on that first drive, way to shut them down Flyers… Would to see East STL vs Duncanville out of Texas, would be a good inner city matchup

Just having one threat on offense won't work. I thought the prairieridge team was bigger but they were small. An effective triple option offense must have 3 or 4 threats that can score and must have a strong nice size offensive line.
Yes, especially when a team's best player is the quarterback, prairieridge was one dimensional. They had no dominant fullback, no dominant halfback, no dominant offensive line like Cary Grove had last year.

Cary Grove last had a solid team. Big fullback and big quarterback. I didn't know Prairieridge was that small of a team. Triple option needs more passing plays especially if the team running triple option is a smaller team. East St Louis should probably be put in the class 7A or 8A bracket.
Congratulations Flyers, awesome season. In my opinion the Flyers are the best team in Illinois and Missouri. CMCHS and Loyola are ranked higher in Illinois, but the Flyers are rank higher nationally. Neither team played a top ten national rank opponent. East Side destroy CBC in Missouri, so how are they rank higher and they didn't play a top ten national rank team as well. I’m here to inform you that Mt Carmel and East saint Louis will be playing week 1 next year at ISU ( according to a very trust worthy source that’s close to Mc community and staff ) . So the debate of best team in the state will be put to rest early next year

Because the Prairie Ridge QB ran for 3,735 yds + in this season alone, he holds the IL single season rushing record now. That 3,735 yds is missing one vs St. Ignatius so its more. But there defense was bad they gave up 440 points in 14 games and of course they were small.
Looked like triple option which is what Cary Grove used to upset East St. Louis for last years title. Or you just talking in general? That size differential is laughably noticeable lol. Hard to do anything against that trying to run a triple option with a severely undersized lineup. Cary Grove was able to ground and pound them last year due to their Full Back, looks like Prairie Ridge relies more on their QB than their backs. Either way there's no denying East St. Louis is hands down the top ranked program in the State. Only school to consistently schedule games against nationally ranked teams. Wish they would schedule Mt. Carmel or Loyola to truly assert their dominance over the state.
