Why do you think? The boy nearly lost his life because of that girl and you're asking why they lied to him? Any parent would to protect their children and i for one do not blame Dev he knows this might lead to his son hating him, but he understands that his son's hatred for him means nothing when compared to his safety and wellbeing. From when Aadi is alive and well, Dev can always make amends and patch things up with him, but he can't do that if he's dead.

Who can blame him? Kelly brought nothing but misery to everyone around her in the end and bc of her, her Asian boyfriend Aadi got shot and nearly died. Dev is justifiably angry with the whole situation seeing his son got shot and nearly died chasing her dumb blonde ass.
