    I wish you talk during the painting, about the what and why of the ( desirable)labelled colours in your palette. Thanks for your demonstration, any way.

    So relaxing to watch, and informative. Thanks.

    Hi Samir. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. You said preparing your canvas is very important. Just wondering, how do you prepare your canvas? Love your work!

    Very nice demonstration of oil painting,! I loved it and also learned a lot! I have started doing oil painting recently. My interest is mainly landscape painting. Thank you for sharing the video. I have a couple of questions about oil painting. What type of brushes and medium do you use ? Also how do you prepare your canvas board before painting? I would really like to learn from you.
    Thank you once again.
    Kind Regards
    Rajani

    Hello Samir , I have a genuine question that I've never found the answer too.I painted Monets "woman in the garden" but I found that when I painted trees over the sky colour that when I left gaps as we see in real life , it looked wrong , I then blocked trees in and put blobs of sky colour over the top of tree colour ,,and it looked better ,,it really has me baffled ,do you know why the last way worked (as you do it ) thanks in advance Paul Mckell

    TREES ARE so difficult for me !
    I learnt a Lot. Why did
    you pre-paint the canvas yellow ? Thanks so much !

      Toning your painting surface is a wonderful way to be able to more accurately judge value and color. This technique also helps to tone down the bright white speckles that creep through when your painting is completely finished

    I did this in acrylic and was very pleased with the result. Thank you for the tutorial. Would love to hear you commenting. Mixing colors is hard for beginners. I plan to follow more of your lessons.

    How should we prepare a
    canvas ? Thanks !

    • @PaintingWithSamir
      @PaintingWithSamir  Před 2 lety +1

      I usualy use leftovers of paint from my palette. mix them together and adjust to get earthy tone and than apply that as a wash (mixed with linseed oil,i don't like smell of thurp) on canvas.

    my paint doesn't flow like yours.... are you using medium or solvent?

    • @PaintingWithSamir
      @PaintingWithSamir  Před 3 lety +3

      I use only linseed oil. I think preparation of canvas is very important. the canvas must absorb enough oil during preparation so that it does not steal too much paint while painting, ie. don't be hungry for color. I hope my answer was helpful.
