I feel like Genesis UK missed a mark by not offering the G70 with the 3.3L twin-turbo V6 that’s optional in other markets. With that kind of power and performance, North American reviewers have compared its driving dynamics to BMWs of old, which is no bad thing.
Great review with no nonsense
A brilliant option on this car that I would recommend opting for is the Phil Collins pack which comes with a set of drums and a 25 minute keyboard solo 😂

Lovely shape and colour. Lovely interior. 5 years warranty and 5 years free servicing is better than anything offered by the german brands. But we're obsessed with the German brands over here so it has its work cut out for it.
People will still convince themselves that German is better ,I really hope this does well and not another Infiniti….beautiful design….👍

I've just watched this car sporting a 3.3L turbo, 4 wheel drive with launch control and them guys found it to be pretty close to what you get from a BMW M340i, it was that great. It's just a shame that they don't comercialize it here in the UK, why?? Other than that, this was a good review. Cheers!

The underpowered powertrain issue is only in the UK actually
in other markets this car is offered with the same engine that is on the Kia Stinger the 3.3L twin-turbo V6
Always good to have more choice in the market place, but with the established rivals having a stranglehold in a sector (mid size saloons), which is diminishing in size by the year, hard to see the G70 doing well, at least in the UK.
All those things she mentioned with regards to a lack of a 4 wheel drive version and bigger engines......they exist in the north American and Asian versions. So it won't be long before they appear in the UK.
I was hoping it would offer a stiffer challenge, I think design wise it looks brilliant.
Well, it's less like to go wrong than a BMW, Audi or Mercedes.
Nice looking, good servicing, warranty and support package and it will be reliable. The interior would sell it to me, absolutely gorgeous. Would have to drive like a boat to put me off I think, especially when you then take into account the price advantage. Wonder what the residual value will be like?
Genesis hasn't brought the full sandwich to the party. Moronic UK insurance costs and various other rules means the car doesn't get the 3.3 twin turbo or the AWD. In NA this car is rated seriously against the BMW 330i and M340i. It is better than the A4, C class or any comparable Lexus. I agree it won't sell against those in Europe due to no power but don't say they have work to do. They've done the work. Its you're leaders that make bringing newer vehicles in restrictive.
This channel should have more subscribers. All four of its reviewers raise important issues that most other channels fail to note. It's increasingly a channel I watch, not least because it often gives a different perspective. Not only have I come to trust its reviews, but also all of its reviewers are easy to watch, which isn't the case with some of the newer reviewers on more established channels.

A great review Vicky. You say it as you see it. It's a good car that's pretty good at a lot of things but other options can do them better... at a cost. Apart from the ride quality is it really worth paying the extra for those more established expensive options? That's what a test drive is for. I’m surprised that this test car being the top spec sport line, only has the interior from the Advanced (or at least that’s what it’s called in Canada) package. I would’ve thought that it would have the Napa leather upholstery with the quilted design.
We get Premium, Luxury and Sport. The napa seats are optional extras
Initially thought this looked beautiful. But with a firm ride, & lacking comfort or performance it seems a pretty tough sell over rivals

It looks (too ?) stiffly sprung in the video and its probably the only point that would put me off the car. Fab design inside and out though and the tech looks well integrated and very useable. Genesis should have had the courage to tune it more for comfort and reduced NVH which would probably have suited most buyers better I suspect as well as avoid the inevitable comparisons with the abilities of class leaders in chassis dynamics. It's a strategy that works well for Volvo after all. Great review as ever thanks, not many presenters get to the point so succinctly as Vicky.

That’s the spirit! And yes it does by the way. It also comes with a keyboard that comes out from the boot so you can play a keyboard solo in the back
Like to see V2 of this in a few years, still some way to go to iron out those highlighted issues.
I can’t imagine we’ll see a V2 of this particular model as this generation has actually been around for a good few years in other markets, with this model being a major facelift. However that might not be a bad thing because the next change will probably be a whole new generation, where they can start afresh and really deal with those highlighted issues.

The Kia Stinger does all that with more powerful available engines and a much better-looking design.
