You could turn them 180 deg and show the locomotive has the road set for the main OR siding and the “Authority to proceed” Through the turn out in the trailing direction without derailing [ dependent upon the type of switch motor used.] They could also be on the side of the engineer in both cases.
I do like them all the same and. Rule 1 applies “ its my railway and I do it my way!”

Wonderful/ great job in showing wiring requirements. Bought these on Amazon, but no directions included. Maybe I missed it, realize you used solid wire, but what gauge wire? Thanks
I myself don't know if the dwarf signals in real life is done that way or not; but I do think it would be logical to have both signals on the engineer side of the locomotive as opposed to have one of the signals out of the view of the engineer; so placement is critical.
That aren't done that way in real life. You can do them both on the right very easily. Just move them a couple inches down the track. I'll probably do it that way from now on just to get people to stop bringing it up :D
The signals are supposed to be before the switch ??
On my layout they are ;) I'm using them more as a way for me to quickly see which way the turnouts is switched. Not so much for realism from an engineer perspective.
Aren't dwarf signals always placed on the engineer's side of the track? It seems like the signal on the diverging track should be located between the through rail and the diverging rail so as to be visible to the engineer.
Oh I'm quite sure that the way I use them wasn't done in real world applications. This is more for a way for a 500 foot tall human to quickly see which way track is switched. :)
You could also just use one dwarf signal instead of two. It the one on the right is green you know the track is switched to the right. If it's red you know the track is switched to the left. That would provide more of the realism that you seek. I like having lots of lights...
