- What is Klarna? How Klarna became a Fintech Unicorn. When Sebastian Siemiatkowski, Niklas Adalberth & Victor Jacobsson launched Kreditor, which later became Klarna, they ran around in Suits with professional looking business cards trying to attract investment. Now Klarna, now for it's slogan of Buy Now, Pay Later has partnered with brands like ASOS, Nike & Adidas to offer financing for retail shoppers.
In this video, we explore how Klarna was founded, the history of klarna and how Klarna used Snoop Dogg in their advertising campaign.
Here's how it happened.

Nothing better than delayed payment to sink a family / individual already sunk by debts.
Don't buy it then duh, would you go in a physical shop and buy stuff when you know you are broke?
Welcome to 2016.
Thank you Sweden. The land of innovation
So they profit off of you paying late fees ?
Needed to watch this for an interview with Klarna this week! 🙏🏻
Hope it was helpful!
i was thinking bout using klarna to buy a phone so it's basically a loan ive seeing people talking about it
worth 31 billion now
How does this company make money I don't understand???
Klarna is such a useful tool to help manage my spending, would highly recommend it!
I won’t use Klarna again.
why not?
They stole the idea from Coppel in Mexico
i used klarna and i’m 16😭 i didn’t know i had to be 18 oops
Klarna is a waste of time just go to Best Egg, LightStream, WellsFargo, Marcus, Goldman & Sacs and apply for a personal loan. The application process is a bit more involved but your APR is very good, the best on the market and you can get pre-approved (soft pull) on Lending Tree and get at the very least a more transparent interaction. Klarna or any of these Buy Now Pay Later options are for those people who like PAYLATERGUIDE suggests; you have to start off small and build a relationship and no one knows how long it will take to purchase over $1000. Klarna is not a viable option to banks as they seem to reject high credit scores because Klarna makes its money primarily from Late payments and the interest accrued from that late payment. People who pay on time isn't what Klarna is looking for. Klarna is owned by WebBank which until recently was a pass-through for Lending Club . WebBank is a sham funding bank that Lending Club used to avoid usuary laws and remain unregulated and is owned 100% by Steel Partners Holdings LP . All the loans written by Web bank was passed to Lending Club who profited from defaults. Steel Partners need a bank like WebBank to appear liquid but is actually illiquid and it somehow allowed it to become publicly tradable.. Citigroup has bout 100's of millions of loans from WebBank... See where I am going with this? The profits are in default loans, add that with ducking regulatory laws and fees and you have a money maker in WebBank which really has no real value if sold today because they do not own their own loans. Klarna is nothing its just a name, WebBank passes these loans forward and thats why you get declined. Klarna takes no risks with WebBank reporting 27.02 Million in loss loans. WebBank currently writes loans for PayPal working capital loans.
Klarna isn't a waste of time. Getting a loan is a silly and ridiculous thing
