    In my Model Y I will say the white seats have been surprisingly durable. I splattered iced tea all over the passenger seat when adding sweetener. I didn't notice for two days. When I did, warm water and a microfiber cloth made it go away no problem. All things being equal, it was easier to clean the white seats in my Tesla than the tan cloth seats in my Highlander (which has a permanent tea stain from 5 years ago). I'm not sure I would use alcohol wipes on them for fear it would make the magic coating that makes them so stain resistant go away.

      Yeah, guess I should have mentioned I don’t usually use alcohol based wipes; just happened to be what I had and they are better for tougher clean up. I had actually read that the alcohol based wipes were recommended though so not sure if there is any concern with it taking off any factory protectant or not.

    I just paid for my MY and used your referral code. I like better and ordered the black seats.
    I’m waiting for the updated center console. Can’t wait. Thanks for all of your informative vids.

      Awesome, thanks! I will be jealous of the center console. I might even get black interior on my next Tesla (likely CyberTruck), but I have some time to decide

    I’ve been using Pledge on all of my leather interiors for over 20 years. Pledge also works great on the bluejeans transfer in my MY. I don’t have the seat belt rub in the back yet so I can’t speak on it. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

    I got black seats for my model Y. I had black seats in my current ICE Monte Carlo, so I got the same thing. Plus black seats come standard in my Model Y, no added cost. i am also going to be adding seat covers and seat cushions for added protection even on the black seats.

    Thanks for the video. Been debating between the colours until your video that just convinced me I should go with black... because of the seatbelt stain

    It in a model 3 and y but in a model s and x. In models 3 and y there is no wood trim if you get white but on the model s and x thee is and it’s brilliantly implemented so you get both.

    Whenever I drive my model 3 car white seats, I get pain on my right glute even after driving for 15 mins. I drive with regenerative braking, so don’t have to press brake quite often. I don’t have this problem in my BMW 3 series car and can drive for hours with no pain at all.

    White interior looks really nice! Knowing my kids’ propensity to make messes and my laziness in cleaning up after them, I’m thinking colors that hide dirt and mess would be better for me. 😊

      Well I guess if you just don’t want to see it that is fine, but the mess will still be there so... you know.

    Page 11:00 die transfer from black seat belt?
    Ideally use white seat belt. If not an option, add a barrier between seat belt and the white seat. Solid barrier in seat or in the belt. Such as single side silicone tape on seat, or a coating on the belt. Coating that does not harm the belt nylon tissue either mechanically or chemically. Is waxing the belt OK? What do you think?

    Whites seats look 10 times better, if you get a stain that's difficult to remove use acetone to remove it then wipe off the residue with 70% isopropyl alcohol.

    Ceramic coating on the white will prevent these problem? Or at least to clean will be better?

    • @whatdrivesyou6798
      @whatdrivesyou6798  Před 3 lety

      It should help protect and make it easier to clean. For the most part they are already pretty easy to clean so just a concern with the jean dye transfer and black marks from rear seat belts

      @@whatdrivesyou6798 I was surprised about the possible problem with Magic Eraser since the Tesla Salesman here at Tesla Store in Orlando sugested to use it to clean. Any personal experience, at least on these hard jean and black marks?

    • @whatdrivesyou6798
      @whatdrivesyou6798  Před 3 lety +1

      Magic erasers are essentially 3000 grit sandpaper so although they will remove stains and such, they will also remove some of the protective coating on the seat and if used enough it will damage the seat material
