Most Nigerians living outside the country do not speak the truth. Most Nigerians are really suffering outside but refuse to come back because of the shame of not being successful like others.
I have lived legally in Europe, Canada, and the USA for 38 years, out of which 15 is in the US. We have some really bad roads with huge potholes in America, and not all toads are paved though majority are paved.Trust me, Abuja is top-notch. There are areas in America, UK, that are more or less like old Ajegunle. A coworker (American) visited Nigeria 15 years ago and is still singing praises of the mansions in Nigeria.
Lastly, Nigeria is the freest country in the world.
You are a true Nigerian. As you rightly said some of us love Nigeria unconditionally.
The majority if roads are paved, are the majority of roads in Nigeria paved? Even in Abuja, some places are terrible if poor people live there. If you're in the good areas. its fine, but thats the same worldwide. People die everywhere, yes, but elsewhere there is a system that works and kicks in even if the person is poor. Not so in AbujaThat's the truth.
I sing the praises of Abuja all the time and have shown foreigners around Abuja, but I do have to be honest about what it lacks.
Abuja will get there, yes but currently has a very long way to go.

@sylviasworld9397 Sir, we all need to appreciate what we have. Nigeria is only 64 years old. These countries have been free for ever. Rome was not built in a day. Most Nigerians don't know that when the Europeans arrived in Benin they were flagabasted because it was a more developed and thriving city. The development was destroyed and held down for 100 years and you expect it to be on the same level in a jiffy. For your information Benin city is recorded to be the first known city with street light and well planned streets. Criticism should be objective and not out of hatred for your own.

It is a pity that many people don't know that African soil is different from European or American soil. African soil is combination of black, red and white sand-soil while European nations are black and white sand-soil. Africa has the best soil in the world; it can grow any type of fruits and veggies.

I'm U.S. based -objectively, Abuja is a world-class city in any respects. Granted, it would be compared perhaps more to a really nice suburb in the United States (as it is not very commercialized). And there is still some level of power outage. But in terms of road infrastructure, it is world-class period.

Good day and thank you for this video. I lived in Germany for 17 years before relocating to the UK for 20 years now. To comfirm your anslyses about the behavious of the western countries, over malaria or fever generally., in Germany they will quarantee that person in isolated room in the hospital where you will have no contact with the outside world. The Drs. and nurses attending to the patient dressess like Astonaut going to the moon and the patient feb through a hole in that isolated room and above that they will bring drugs that have not been given to anyone else for that person to take and finally they will go to the person or patient to flit the house and possibly the rest of the family for medical test under quaranteen of course.

Put Abuja and New York, i will choose Abuja anyday. I have been to New York but it was freaking crazy city with homeless people on the street. London that with ancient buildings and tiny roads is not for me. Canada, i can't live in a refrigerator, warm weather for me.

Abuja should begin to embrace more modern architecture going forward just like other west African cities like Accra for example and even Lagos. Lagos was built before Abuja, but still has newer modern buildings springing up, to stop it looking completely outdated.
Clearly buildings built in the 80's will look 80's in style, but why would newer builds follow an outdated style?
You're right, London was built many years ago even from before the 80's but they even still regenerate areas with modern structures. So they will have both St Paul's Cathedral and Canary Wharf, both Big Ben and the Shard. Both eras are included in one city.
If anyone really loves Abuja they would welcome constructive criticism instead of simply being defensive.

When she did a series in Accra she told me about the modern buildings and like you, I simply defended Abuja and was defensive , but when I actually visited Accra recently, after a number of years, I saw exactly what point she was making and totally agree with her.
You should also travel to Accra and other places to see, even though it was built before ABJ and also has some 80's designs too, they ALSO are able to incorporate more modern design in new developments and Accra as a city is better for it.
For the sake of a better ABJ, the same should be done in new builds, that is my point. In fact Id love fir Wike to send a team to Accra, Senegal and Ivory Coast to see how they are incorporating modern buildings in their city and even places further afield.
Go and see for yourself and you'll get my point.

But what is your evidence about "modern architecture" and are you referring to business buildings or residential homes? I've been to Lagos, Abuja as well as Accra and Dakar. NONE of them can compare to Abuja in terms of being modern and upscale. The only thing is it doesn't feel as "lived-in" as the others. What is your evidence other than long essay? And are you basing an entire conclusion of some clips - or have you actually been?

@@sylviasworld9397 I was in Accra in 2022. Toured everywhere, from Trasacco to Airport residential area (where I stayed) to Labone all the way up to Aburi.
So I know exactly what I'm talking about. Lagos is a bigger, more developed (but also more noisy and disorganized) Accra. Abuja is more modern than both Lagos and Accra. Dakar is just... different (in a really good way).

Just ordinarily basic amenities are lacking in the country, ordinary steady electricity, running pipe water and good hospitals with functional facilities,good roads. Unlike in abroad you have them. But in terms of economic crises and crimes can be seen in any country, in Nigeria human life are not valued people are killed like fowls and no body take responsibility.
Most people who traveled abroad make more savings than in Nigeria.Nigeria just need good leaders with determination to move the country forward. We have everything to be a great country thats why most foreign counties are interested in 9ja bcos of what we have.
