- 7 Months ago i asked the original creator of this flourish Dimitri Arleri if i could make a tip video explaining the 360 concept since in his original tutorial it was only 180 and used a significantly worse technique than most people actually use today.
He responded saying that he would make an updated tutorial when he released his new deck, that was 7 months ago.
I have gotten endless amounts of requests to teach this but i didn't want to be total asshole to Dimitri. But at this point it has been so long and nothing has happened so here it is. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
every time i practise the riffle fan at work this song pops to my head.
Atheneleetking haha
Atheneleetking same haha
Yessssss
For a while because of the title, I thought he's gonna give 360 riffle fan tips
Same to you
Haven’t tried it yet but this has been the best tutorial I’ve seen… and no words were spoken… well said bud
just wanna say this is one of the best looking riffle flourish iv'e seen. and its a year old...
I needed help with this so I went out to find you in the streets. I finally did see you so I hollad and hallad but you just kept going. I started yelling and then finally ran up to see why I was being ignored then you flew away. It was then I realized it was a bird.
Edit: sorry I was drunk when I made this comment, cheers 🍻
Omg thanks you helped me with the arm movement this is very very important!
This is just what i needed, thanks m8
"Or holla at me on the streetz" lmao. You just got a new sub. Also, this was a great vid, and nice music too.
Thanks :)
Oh jeez, I didn't think you would actually reply. And no, thank you. ;)
I was in a long car ride and spent three hours teaching myself this move after vaguely watching a video a while back. I didn't know arm movement was a thing but it should help with consistency, otherwise 3 hours is all you need to master it.
Nice tips! Never tried with the thumb also gonna give that a go, I can usually just 180.
Great tips video. Keep it up!
Thanks again! Hope ill meet you at the con!
Thanks kevin karlsson, you are my true inspiration
One of the best tutorial it took me 30 min to learn it
Now lear this m.czcams.com/video/yjiie7QJ4G0/video.html
Man😍😱, ur riffle fan is like dimitri😍😍. So satisfying 😍😍
I am korean but this video is not hard to understand thank you kevin
Try this: m.czcams.com/video/yjiie7QJ4G0/video.html
Good luck.
HOLY SHIT YOU ARE THE RIFFLE FAN GOD!!!
Hey Kevin, Rise Magic did a recent tutorial on this move and said that he learned it from a video where riffle fans where being done off rocks and grills, I thought that must be Kevin Karlssons video! I gave you a mention on his channel and it turns out he learned it from you! just thought I'd let you know + thanks again for learning me such an amazing move 8-)
Thats cool thx man
Great vid.. esp the arm movement tip.. cuz I'm stuck with sub 360 riffle fans currently
I didn't believe, but when the cards swirled in my own hands hahahahaha was Magic, thanks :D
Thanks for the tips!
Dude thank u very much, I had cheched about 2 months a good fucking tutorial like this one, love u
Amazing skills! tutorial and audio! I just subscribed! Thought id never be able to do this but you helped me get the basics and in just a few days I'm getting a full 360! just don't look that good yet!! one thing you didn't mention is that the middle and ring finger has to get out of the way for the cards to go all the way round but I kinda worked that out for my self! keep up the good work and I'll stay tuned! thanks
phil mcguire Glad it helped! I actually don't move my middle finger and ring finger out of the way as you can tell by the performance, if you have the right grip you don't need to but i guess that depends from person to person.
Thanks Kevin! I've noticed that my fan is a lot thicker and that's why I'm having to move those fingers and probably why it doesn't look to pretty yet... lots of work to put into this move, it could take a long time to get it as good as your performance, you make it look so easy and execute it with pure precision and beauty I just love it!! to those of you struggling be patient and keep practicing! this has to be the best looking fan out there and your not going to get it handed on a plate for you!
Still one of my fave vids! I finally mastered it and can riffle fan on pretty much anything! thank you so much Kevin!
after watching this it instantly worked omg thank you meme lord
+UnoxGames You have been #blessed
Aye thanks, I gotta try the thumb on that corner
This is very good!
Awesome!
U are a legend
+Marcel Traut Ein klassischer Madison
I'm having trouble with the arm movement, it usually just goes one forth the way through then falls
Do you keep your left arm ( the one which has the thumb / index finger getting the cards spun on) at the same position or do you move it along with the motion with you right hand
Left hand stays still, only the thumb can do a small motion sometimes to get it to spin.
+Kevin Karlsson thanks man!
1 practise 2 practise 3 more practise.
what is the timing for dribble :( releasing thumb when i lift up or lift down the arm? 180 only
btw, thanks for the tutorial!
very cool ~
big help
thx bro
Lovely bro
wow wonderful
When I do it my cards still just do a regular riffle and then fall.. any tips? I'm using the arm movement that he said as well
Tilt your hands on an angle
Lean to dribble the cards instead of riffling them
¡¡¡¡Awesome tutorial!!!1
Less pressure would make the card drop what should I do before the card drop
thanks kev
The instructions were so clear...
The pressure of my right hand or left hand(index fing)should less?
Hey when I riffle using my right hand, after half way my fingers always end up touching the cards so the fan stops. How do you riffle exactly?
kevin are you able to do this trick just as easily with a regular uspcc bicycle rider back deck?
Depends on the decks condition, but yes
You are best refal fan
Can I use this video im order to teach my friends please?
Is there a specific way to release the cards
Hey anyone has advice on why does my cards start dropping after half way, i can do the 180 degrees fairly easy but after that they all just drop :(
maybe tilt your hand back to a steady level. Try to basically balance the cards, im going to expand on what i mean. basically rotate your hand with the cards.
I'm getting plenty of movement, and every once and a while I will get a full 360 and the fan looks great. But lately the the cards keep shooting out onto the floor fret only one quarter turn. How can I keep them from falling?
Practice the pressure between the cards and your finger, that is whats keeping them from falling. You need the perfect pressure balance its quite tricky xD
music?
I don't understand how don't let them fall. The same tip i hear is "Try putting more pressure on the nail" it doesn't seem to work, I've only been doing this for a couple days, but I thought I would have seen something by now. Nice tutorial btw
Try to play around with it, the pressure is a big part of it but also try to adjust your angle. Too much Angle makes the cards fall and too little makes them stay in the same place, try to find the perfect balance.
Thanks man, I'll try again
i couldnt do it until i saw fontaine fam.try to use your 3 fingers only (not the pinky and the ring finger).i did it the first time..
i can't hold the card when i started to make a 360° riffle fan
yes! I got it in 10minutes its self working the hardest part is to prevent cards from fallinh
do you know where I can buy these cards cheap? VERY HELPFUL Video!!
This version is sold out and hard to find, but theres a new version coming soon :)
the decks slip out every time is it because I didn't put enough pressure
Does your thumb stays on the same spot the whole time ? Or does it move
+Shining Lotus it moves a bit, most of the motion is in the right hand tho
As i do the arm rotation the cards keep falling aftet 180 degrees
Thanks for the tutorial, but when I get to about 140' I just drop the cards? Is it just lack of practise or what?
+PumpKing put a bit more pressure to not drop them, its about finding the perfect balance. Keep practicing!
+Kevin Karlsson Thanks, pressure with my thumb?
PumpKing yeah
hi Kevin I have a few questions must it only be up finger or thumb only or 3 fingers because I do it with 3fingers I am afraid I am not doing it properly
Magical -Cardistry do it with your thumb or index. It works best for me on thumb cuz index feels weird. How u doing it with 3 finger?
3 fingers at the edge makes the cards stabilise easier
Magical -Cardistry yea but can u get at least 180 degree?
Yup just that the v has to be deeper
it goes about a quarter of the way and stop, tips?
thankssss
I practiced rifle fan move but the card couldn't fast move and fall on the half way.does anyone give suggestion how to get rifle fan?rifle fan is my favourite move.
See this post, which people seem to like. www.reddit.com/r/cardistry/comments/kk3pka/a_fan_of_physics_observations_about_dimitri/

Can you do the same with a slightly older deck when the cards don't slide so easily anymore?
Maybe, its best if the deck can do a normal thumb fan nicely.
Thanks, I've been practicing this riffle fan and I can now do pretty even 360 fans with a very old deck, even though its still not consistent, but it fans better than a normal fan, at least for me.
what camera do you use?
+Bear Magic Canon 700D
how do u riffle the cards? like i get to one fourth of the way and the cards just dont go anymore
+Baek Jiho practise, use less pressure
The fan goes half way, then the cards fall everywhere. Help?
how many months it take you to practice this move?
i have been doing the Riffle Fan for a year now, but you could learn it in a month or less if you practice.
+Kevin Karlsson I'm practicing it and it always fall down
every time I start riffling it just stays the same
Maybe the pressure between your finger and hand is too strong try to lessen it
I can't get it to move from the start position😐
feel you, bro
That's why it says it's a hard move it take u month to make it perfect
Angle it properly
can you give me tips with mine? i've been practicing for weeks now and the best i could get is a little close to a 180 degree fan. a little more than that is when the cards starts falling. I know this is a move that takes months to master, I just want some advice. thanks!
Send me a video of you trying it to my instagram @kevinkrlsn and i can point out what could make it easier for you
do it with your pointer, there's less movement therefore less chance for the cards to fall.
No need for arm movement, just play with the angle of the cards being dribbled, angle is a huge part in making it look effortless.
good video though
Doing it with the index has it's flaws, when you do it with your index theres a greater chance for the fan to knock in to your other 3 fingers as the fan is being made. Also how is there "less chance" for the cards to fall on your index? If they do fall i have the exact same chance of catching them with the 4 fingers under as i would if i would do it with the index. I only use arm movement for 540 riffle fans or more, when i do it normally i use no arm motion and i stop at exactly 360 as you can see in the beginning of the video.
+Kevin Karlsson the thumb requires extra movement to hold the fan after it fans out, but using the pointer allow you to grip the fan (with the thumb) by just placing it down on top. i didn't mean your thumb was a bad way, i just haven't practised with my thumb so by looking at the video it looks like there can be instability when finishing it.
The 540 can be achieved by starting with a quick dribble at a 45° and slowly lowering it to the horizontal plane as it nears the end of the cards.
anywho, do you know a good way to close the vad fan?
🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏
My riffle fan pattern is not equal to one another , it should line up perfectly but mine is meh some big some small.
what was the deck that u were using
Scrumfy virtuoso summer/spring 2014 edition
The card have to be the same kind you are using and if bicycle cards should they be new
No the deck doesn't matter, just make sure you use a pretty new deck that can fan well but if they are too new it makes it harder.
my deck of cards doesnt even turn when i riffle them :(
You want to make sure your middle finger moves up when you dribble the cards! They'll fall naturally if you dribble right
i suggest u learn the dribble first
so sad
what's vertuso Nomber?
Nice
Song name ?
i can do this much easier with my index finger on bottom , i dont know if practising it to use the thumb at the bottom makes it look better, opinions please
i don't think it matters in the end xD
ok bro , great suggestion :D xD well its easier to hold the fan after doing it with the index finger is on bottom
that's one spiky ass chin
+Adam Phong hi baby, (kevin i stole him from u)
+Ethan Butler shiiii
how many years do you have?
+Eduardo Rodríguez 1 year and 8 months since i started cardistry, about 1 year since i learnt the Riffle Fan
I have virtuoso deck too
Man every time i try my card fell down and first they dont come out and when they do they fall
Try this m.czcams.com/video/yjiie7QJ4G0/video.html
But it more difficult
Dude i used the same song as you did and i got copyrighted how do you fall under no copyright claims
I got copyright claims lol
i cant keep my thumb on the left corner so i cant do it :(
what is the difference of 360 riffle and just riffle fan
+Vince Pastores nothing really, its the same grip just the ending result is different
Tips for qurly q fan?
can it be done with old cards?
+Laurent Amurat No not really, the deck should be just broken in for the best result
+Kevin Karlsson the cards keep on sliping from my finger nail
+Kevin Karlsson the cards keep on sliping from my finger nail
Laurent Amurat then put more pressure, its about finding the perfect balance to make the cards spin but not fall.
+Kevin Karlsson ok sometimes the cards dont come out evenly
What is a good deck for the riffle fan, I do it with my deck and it fails😂😂😂😂
Noice
