Ah, awesome! I missed your reactions, it's good to see you back! Hopefully you don't mind my usual super long, excessively wordy analysis comments, because this is gonna be another one (but if you ever want me to stop, ffs let me know!). Firstly, the instrumental is freaking amazing. The shamisen beat mixed with other traditional instruments and that badass bass in the back is just uuuugh. If you were unaware, Yamazaki is the name of a brand of Japanese whiskey, and the lyrics (which I will get to in a second) have a lot of references to alcohol and drinking. So during the verses, when you hear that bass in the background slurring drunkenly, it not only sounds awesome contextually in the music, but also alludes to the song thematically, which I love! As for the lyrics, you can find the translation by looking up itsbap yongguk yamazaki on Google. I would add the link here, but sometimes CZcams is iffy on posting links in comments, so I will let you look into them. My take on the lyrics is this: It seems like he is likening truth/himself to Yamazaki/alcohol in general: A heady drink that the young are still able to consume nearly every day, but that older people tend to be unable to tolerate as well. It also makes people honest. Yongguk is challenging the older generation and those that believe the world revolves around them, and saying he will be that voice of truth that reveals them, and encouraging people to "drink up" and absorb the truth and challenge he represents. The MV shows the evils of the Yakuza in the brutality of the chicken, the use of women as sex objects, the violence, depravity, and overindulgence. These are all shown in red and muted, with occasional black and white cuts, casting a dangerous and negative sort of vibe over the images. You may think that it is glorifying these things, but for this atmosphere and the oni (demon) masks that keep flickering over Yongguk's face, which send definite signals that hedonism is not the intended point of focus. The lyrics seem to be challenging tradition for tradition's sake, or tradition that favors the old/powerful at the expense of the young/poor, and those themes fit into this MV by showing the powerful and corrupted Yakuza giving into these pleasures/vices. However, Yongguk ultimately punishes them for it. It is even more symbolic, because said punishment follows when they have all literally gotten drunk, as opposed to the figurative drunkenness of the lyrics. It is quite well done, and much in keeping with Yongguk and B.A.P's social messages. Anyway, thank you once again for the reaction! I would love if you would react to Sleepy - Body Lotion. Sleepy is another artist under TS entertainment, and a member of yhe hip-hop duo Untouchable, and Body Lotion features Yongguk very prominently during the verses. It also was produced by a well known rapper/producer named Giriboy, and he did a phenomenal job. I think you would love it, and it would help you get your Yongguk fix while we wait for this new B.A.P album that the guys have told us several times is already well in the works! “꼰대들에 동공 지진을 위해서 한잔 때리네/For the fear of the old bastards(, I/we) take a shot”
꼰대 is a street slang for old men who, basically, are rude and believe that the sun rises of their ass.
동곤 지진 directly translates to “pupil earthquake” and is termed for the moment when one is flustered/confused and cannot figure out where to exactly put their eyes; it’s also for a moment when they’ve realized that they’re wrong and or found out. I translated this to “fear” for the second term of translation (the realization of being wrong or found).
한잔을 때리네 in directly translation means to hit the glass. This usually means (not to actually smack the glass) but to take the shot and slam it down on the table. It’s also used in everyday dialogue (usually by the young adult/middle aged) to go for a drink. “야 한잔 때리자” could translate to “Hey, let’s go for a drink.”

짠해, in direct translation, means to do cheers as “짠” is the sound that is made when two glasses clink together (it’s the Korean term for cheers). To say “짠해” can mean (well, several things, but in this case,) to take a drink. When someone says “야 짠해”, while lifting their glass, it means to clink glasses and drink.
“맷집이 좋은 나의 빡빡이 형들 한잔해/To my strong bald-headed brothers(,) take a shot”
맷집이 좋다 means to be thick-skinned or resilient.
빡빡이 refers to either being bald or having shaved their heads.
“내가 지는 곳은 죄와 벌이 깨어 나의 목 매러 다가오니 야마자키 한 잔을 목 젖에 들이부어 짠을 하면 돼/The place that I am The crime and punishment have woke(,) to choke my neck Are coming closer(,) so a glass of Yamazaki Wet the throat(,) toss it back(,) cheers”
The translation was written in odd order for the spacing it was used in the Korean speech. “In the place I am at, the crime and punishments have woken and are coming closer to choke my throat; so throw back a glass of Yamazaki and wet the throat - say cheers.”
들이부어 means to toss back and throw in. In this case, it would means to toss back the drink.

Thanks for your explanation of the lyrics! I've been checking to see if anyone's translated it [cuz I REALLY want to see what he's saying!] and so far no luck. I figured it would be some sort of message about society, but it's great to know that. It's very Yongguk haha. I always thought he looked like a yakuza boss or something in this (later I saw someone say that they actually are supposed to be yakuza) and I like your reference to Kill Bill, I totally see it! Although with your comment about him getting them to kill each other, someone else pointed out that he got some other guys to kill them. And at 3:30 in the m/v you can see some guys in black (the other person called them "his ninjas") moving into the building as he's coming out and then a knife is being unsheathed. So did he actually have them all assassinated?

Ah, awesome! I missed your reactions, it's good to see you back! Hopefully you don't mind my usual super long, excessively wordy analysis comments, because this is gonna be another one (but if you ever want me to stop, ffs let me know!).
Firstly, the instrumental is freaking amazing. The shamisen beat mixed with other traditional instruments and that badass bass in the back is just uuuugh. If you were unaware, Yamazaki is the name of a brand of Japanese whiskey, and the lyrics (which I will get to in a second) have a lot of references to alcohol and drinking. So during the verses, when you hear that bass in the background slurring drunkenly, it not only sounds awesome contextually in the music, but also alludes to the song thematically, which I love!
As for the lyrics, you can find the translation by looking up itsbap yongguk yamazaki on Google. I would add the link here, but sometimes CZcams is iffy on posting links in comments, so I will let you look into them.
My take on the lyrics is this: It seems like he is likening truth/himself to Yamazaki/alcohol in general: A heady drink that the young are still able to consume nearly every day, but that older people tend to be unable to tolerate as well. It also makes people honest. Yongguk is challenging the older generation and those that believe the world revolves around them, and saying he will be that voice of truth that reveals them, and encouraging people to "drink up" and absorb the truth and challenge he represents.
The MV shows the evils of the Yakuza in the brutality of the chicken, the use of women as sex objects, the violence, depravity, and overindulgence. These are all shown in red and muted, with occasional black and white cuts, casting a dangerous and negative sort of vibe over the images. You may think that it is glorifying these things, but for this atmosphere and the oni (demon) masks that keep flickering over Yongguk's face, which send definite signals that hedonism is not the intended point of focus.
The lyrics seem to be challenging tradition for tradition's sake, or tradition that favors the old/powerful at the expense of the young/poor, and those themes fit into this MV by showing the powerful and corrupted Yakuza giving into these pleasures/vices. However, Yongguk ultimately punishes them for it. It is even more symbolic, because said punishment follows when they have all literally gotten drunk, as opposed to the figurative drunkenness of the lyrics. It is quite well done, and much in keeping with Yongguk and B.A.P's social messages.
Anyway, thank you once again for the reaction! I would love if you would react to Sleepy - Body Lotion. Sleepy is another artist under TS entertainment, and a member of yhe hip-hop duo Untouchable, and Body Lotion features Yongguk very prominently during the verses. It also was produced by a well known rapper/producer named Giriboy, and he did a phenomenal job. I think you would love it, and it would help you get your Yongguk fix while we wait for this new B.A.P album that the guys have told us several times is already well in the works!
