Thank you for your work and research. With me,, I was diagnosed over 4 years ago with wet and had high blood pressure at the same time. Now my blood pressure is down to. 125/65 on average and my exercise is over trekkng 20 km each day and my wet AMD appears to be in remission. I have not had a shot in over 2 years.

Awesome idea, hope it progresses fast enough and to get rid of the injection that also creat floaters and trauma. Cheers from Oz🇦🇺

Hmm, non medical observing myself!!as recently as last week and the week before i was stung by jellyfish....the first time little tingles across my chest, throat and then in my right worst affected eye wet amd, very painful LASTING SECONDS.
second TIME 7 or do days later on my body and ankle but a STRONG zap/ELECTRIC SHOCKwhich left weilds on my skin. obvious;y a more mature jellyfish.
this happened to me last year too in exactly the same body of water, same time of year.BIG welds and electric shock resulting in my breathing being absolutely wonderful. deeper breaths etc.
i joked ..what if i had been stung in my eyes and i didn,t know which way to swim to land, but not really a joke at all..
answer to my own Q of what if i had been stung and i couldn,t tell which way to land..was... i appeared to have had clearer vision!
towards end of your presentation you made me ponder this conumdrum....hmmmmmm going to listen again ..i will brace myself this time.
thank you thank you Macular Society for funding this extremely important work and not big pharma also to Prof Callan and team xxx n excuse no edit... Nancy Ward

Yes, I used actually three different injections types over a time period of four years.

My best guess, it is in remission due to exercise, diet changes and large reduction of blood pressure.

Questions-is there a direct link to high blood pressure or with lack of exercise?

Hi, thanks for your question. People with high blood pressure are one and half times more likely to have AMD than those with normal blood pressure. You can find more information on our website on the causes of AMD - www.macularsociety.org/macular-disease/macular-conditions/age-related-macular-degeneration/
