Thanks for stopping by again today to see this video where I share how to make a cake topper using the new offset tool in Cricut Design Space.
I absolutely love this tool - even though it it having a few issues at the moment, you can see me come across a few of these problems and how I overcome them.
I am using the Cricut Maker in this video today and the fine point blade to cut my design.
The cardstock is from my local wholesaler, the gold is fixed glitter cardstock 220gsm, and the black is regular glitter 250gsm.

Hi Barbara, unfortunately the place I used to buy from went out of business during the pandemic, I’ve been using bits and bobs from papermill direct lately but I also like the glitter range from The Range - Dovecraft I think it’s called. I am currently researching my own paper and cardstock line though so keep your eyes peeled!

Hi Karen, unfortunately the company that I bought this cardstock from has gone out of business, I would recommend glitter card from Papermill Direct though as their stuff is very good quality and I always find it cuts well on the Cricut. Hi on which app you create topper's?
Hi Sally, if you’re using a Cricut cutting machine you’ll need to download Cricut Design Space as this is the software which tells your machine what to cut from your computer or phone or whatever device you’re using. I do all of my designing in Design Space. I rarely use any other package but if I do I sometimes use procreate to draw and then import into Cricut Design Space.

I have a question which other spray glue can we use to stick the cardboard together?
Hi Kelsi! Thanks for your question - I use the Crafters Companion Stick and Spray - ou can either use the repositionable one to the permanent one depending on how long you need your cake topper to last - the repositionable one starts to break down after about 6 months - you can find it here amzn.to/3HEVBfD Thank you so much for watching :)

If I can’t get that one I usually just use tacky glue in a precision tipped bottle and just carefully apply that to each layer. I don’t tend to use a different spray. Hope that helps x
What spray glue is the one you use?
The spray glue that I am using is Stick And Spray by Crafter's Companion and is available on Amazon , just bear in mind that this is not a permanent glue so if you want your cake topper to last for more than maybe 6 months then you should use the permanent version of the stick and spray. amzn.to/3oUUt0T

what card stock gsm you used

So if it doesn’t cut throw if you don’t eject will it recut the same as first
Hi Annie, yes leave your mat in and it will cut in exactly the same line as the first time so you can just press go again and it will 9/10 cut all through - sometimes it just needs an extra pass. Thanks for watching! G

Can you still make a cake topper without a laptop/computer? I only have an iPad
Hi Amy, offset isn’t supported on iPad or phone yet so you won’t be able to use that feature but you’ll be able to make a standard cake topper. Thanks for watching Gemma

Hi Alex, Yes it's a free feature - only on computer though you won't be able to see it on iPads or on your phone if you're using Design Space on those platforms. Thanks for watching :)
