Our family moved to Millville from the Millville/Vineland line in 1965. Closer to my Dad's work at wheaton. I was born in 1963, so that is my rendition. My worked at kerr glass too. There were many factories in the area. Millville, Vineland that I am aware of. It was a great and awesome bustling area. It had its times. Etc. Not saying everything is always perfect or easy. But that the places and jobs are greatly supportive and a great Part of any area. Our nation has seen many changes over time.

Being born & raised in Millville was a great place to live up into the 70s. It breaks my heart to see what it has become. I love this because it brings back so many memories for me.

I wished they had shown my grandfathers store, Vanaman's Feed and Hardware on the corner of Buck and Main St. It was one of the oldest buildings in the city and they tore it down. Now it's the site of Paradise Pizza.

Every factory; every state, businesses from the ice cream shops in moderation of course, to the grocery stores to the toy stores to nature and natural to industry and made. etc all was like a well oiled machine that just worked together, it was always amazing always exciting always happy to see our nation in its element.. it was so happy to walk through my world. To see what I saw. Sports. Education was fun. Etc.

Ive lived in this town for 1.5 years now. I dont understand why everyone bashes this town. It may not look as polished as it did in these clips but Ive seen far worse towns than here. Everywhere has some sort of crime. Maybe if the people who run this town take care of it better it wouldnt look lime bbn it does now.

@AC CA, some crime and out of control crime are two different things.
A bit of a mess and most people leaving their trash everywhere are again two different things.

Families worked, had normal lives. Vacations one time a yr. Family together. Our family used to do pretty much educational vacations. Camping, Caverns, Native american and a variety shows and performances, our Nation's industries, the board walk Salt water taffy shops and how it is made. Through holidays, Our gifts were fun and educational. Cotton candy maker, battery cars, incubator and hatching eggs, educational games, rock tumbler, a trumpet, all different years, all different kinds of toys once a yr. At Christmas time. Christmas was always wonderful growing up.then when I started in the working world. So exciting and that brings me to the factory Santa's best, The Rennoc factory in Vineland N.j. In North Carolina Fabrige, Black and Decker. Etc so many great jobs. The USA Army. Etc. It is such a wonderful Nation and how and what made it all work and supported each other and worked together. It was really awesome.

The answer is relocation programs. Nj Gov moved people from Camden and Atlantic city here by building projects like Delsea gardens and wade east. They made the section 8 people indifferent of race move to Millville. After that the surrounding area property values plummeted and turned section 8 as well.

Also we passed laws allowing cheap foreign imports to be sold in our country sometimes taxed cheaper then local goods in the 1990's. That hit industries like glass production hard. Now as a business owner you could bring your machine to Taiwan and have almost no labor expenses plus less taxes then making it in America. Wheaton glass used to really prop the area up.
