His other podcast is my favorite but I also like sports so I listen to the Michigan Podcast as well.
As older Michigan fan, I grew up as Michigan best. My favorite CFB coach was Ohio’s John Cooper! Then Michigan fell off a cliff. Younger Buckeyes only know dominance. Damn 20 years of it!! Now Michigan has ascended and both fan bases are frenzied. I don’t like Ohio, but I respect them. I have loved the past several years but I also recognize zero how tides can turn. Best not to be arrogant.

Drawing a pile of conclusions from just a Spring Game.
Regarding Michigan qb 40 times - many don’t realize Tanner Mordecai did a 4.4 40 at his pro day. His stats were down, but he broke a finger and missed time. Also, he had a bunch of long balls dropped. Anyways, Steve’s comment about the qb 40 time made me think of it.

Michigan from 2020 follows the political scene 2020,take a look Steve.
Michigan fans aren’t even going to watch the last two spring games back to back let alone anyone else.
My biggest takeaway from the spring game is that Donovan Edwards is visibly bigger and running harder than he was last year. Also, the defensive line will have another year of strength and conditioning under their belt come this fall.

I really like Steve…very bright and insightful. But he sounds more “wishful” than confident. I think this is a 2 or 3 loss season, including a major thumping @Ohio State.

Mark quit talking about stuff that happened between OSU and UM over 100 years ago. Come on. The game has transformed. They did not even throw the forward pass. I would not start the comp until after teams went to the T formation and discovered the magnitude of the forward pass(and that was few and far between) in the 1950s.

@@jwb4925 Actually, the new coach might be a great, average or poor administrator/leader of the program. But we don't have a big enough sample size to know that yet. Game coaching is such a small, albeit important, aspect of the overall job.

I think they’ll win at least one of those games, and everyone else. I would think a 10-2 record is the floor for Michigan in 2024.
@@mark8337that’s what I’m seeing as well. People forget how bad McNamara was after 2021. As long as our qb can perform at Cade’s level from 2021, Michigan will win 10 games. I could see them dropping the Oregon game. But I have a hard time believing they lose to Texas or even OSU. OSU may have the most talented roster, but as we’ve seen the past 24 years, whoever the more physical team is wins the game. Whoever wins the rushing battle wins the game. I’m not too certain that OSU still has physicality issues. Guys like Denzel Burke and Lathan Ransom looked good until Roman Wilson and Cornelius Johnson burned them completely. Fredrick Moore is just as fast. Tyler Morris is a stud. Even into last year Colston Loveland was hard to stop. People saw what Donovan Edwards and Kalel Mullings were capable of last year in the Natty. But we won’t know till the season starts. I’m just glad somebody else is reasonable and can see 10-2.

I will always remember Steve becoming unglued after Ohio St. Hing 60 + on them in the shoe. Comedy gold.
This year OSU has a lot of veteran players. Cheating team isnt going to have all the 6 year seniors. Buckeye run game will be stout with Frye and Kelly reunited and 2 great backs. But also will have a better tougher QB and will still have the leagues best receiver corps. Defense will be better with a lot of returning players plus incredible pieces added. We'll all have big fun finding out who's the best in the B1G for 24.

In the days of NIL it sure seems like OSU has a ton of money available to buy players and they're using it. With Big Ten expansion I don't think it's going to be easy for any team to dominate year after year but who knows.
As much as Deace has been a complete head in the sand boob the over the last year, his point about Day needed to run the program, including offensive philosophy, like a college team is something I've been saying for at least four years. That means to have to block and tackle more live in practice too.

13 drafted and all 18 players that went to the Combine are at NFL training camps! That is a ridiculous number given the recruiting rankings, so Jimmy was correct again.

What is this constant reference to Jack Tuttle? He is the QB that Ryan Day looked at in Cali. He threw to Chris Olave, who is going into his 3rd year in the NFL. Tuttle is nothing more than a semi-experienced backup. He failed at IU and went to UM to hold a clipboard. By the way, UM will be lucky to win 9 games with their schedule. This will not get them in the playoff. I see losses to Texas, OSU, and Oregon, all preseason top 5 teams.

Speaking of the Bama Playoff game Steve says: "the only reason that game was close was we made a lot of offensive mistakes". WTH? Um, special teams Steve, THAT is why. Just about every Fck up from mistakes in kick/punt fielding, both Thaw and Morgan struggled on basic positioning for the catch. What's that? Coaching. On Thaw's muff that nearly lost us the game (why was he trying to catch it in the first place?) he got absolutely blasted by a gunner who ran unblocked why? Because we only had 10 men on the field on that punt - in arguably the most important punt reception of the most important game since 1997 and you don't have enough players fielded? Piss poor ST coaching thru and thru in that game start to finish. I'm glad he's gone and it took Jim to leave for it to finally happen but only Jay Harbaugh fails UP from college to the NFL. After that bama fiasco, no college team, including Michigan would have wanted him in '24. I'm beyond tired of not one CZcams pundit mentioning what a drag Jay Harbaugh was on Michigan, from '15 to the end, and most, like Steve does here, completely ignores the guy's poor coaching even tho it was reported on extensively as the reason that game was close like here Michigandaily.com/sports/football/michigan-overcomes-special-teams-woes-against-alabama/

Yeah, he has legs for sure. My only real issue is that I never saw him go to a second read and so idk how well he knows the playbook. Could be that he never felt the need to go to read number 2, but even when he was targeting open WRs, his accuracy left a bit to be desired. I don't think he is a bad QB by any means, I just don't know how much I trust him on "gotta have it" downs, though I know he can move and he's a big body so he can fight for yards. Maybe that's enough. I guess we'll see what Coach Moore thinks.
UM win/loss over/under is set at 9.5 wins. Bet the Under if you value your $$$$$.

Steve is wrong about Tuttle being a much better athlete than Davis. Semaj Morgan has said Davis is the fastest QB on the team he went on to say he has a cannon arm and reaches 22 mph
