Today we're tearing down the retro room and building it back up. Better than ever. I was lucky enough to get to buy a Sony Trinitron BVM D24 - a dream CRT for analogue enthusiasts like myself - and that meant my current TV stand wasn't going to cut it. We needed a new one.

Man, thanks for the shot out. The setup looks amazing!
Thank YOU!!
Working with your dad is the best part of all of it.
Indeed!
@@EposVox have you tried a laser projector? Would be awsome!!
That BVM looks like an absolute unit. Very jealous, wish I could find one of them locally. But best I could find was a PVM (which I now want to take a look at even more). Awesome setup.
I recently came across a BVM D24 exactly like the one in the video on eBay. The asking price is ridiculously high at $4,500, but it's worth it according to most retro gamers who own something like it.
I guess I am kind of off topic but do anybody know of a good website to stream newly released tv shows online?
BVM & PVM are the same last I checked lol
@@ShutUpBubi bvms are a bit sharper
THIS is so cool. Made me really miss old consoles. Also, showing Harris' stream(and his blankey) really put the icing on the cake for showing off the quality of that new monitor. Glad you got this set up!
An awesome video as per usual, Adam. 😁 👌
I completely agree with you that the retro setup does indeed look amazeballs. 😄 👍 👍
Cheers to you, my man! 🍻
This is one of the craziest set ups I've ever seen. Makes me want to invest in more retro stuff as well!
Sigh, One day the D24 or the 20L5 will be mine. Of course it came from Steve! For now, I will just live vicariously through you :P
Final note. I love that the stream decks match in color to the BVM
That intro was so good and invoked so many childhood memories and emotions for me; It could really be its own little music video even :3 It would be amazing if you made an extended video like that intro.
Edit: Just finished the video. What an amazing build! You really put your heart and soul into it
That looks amazing mate, great set up.
I would absolutely love a D24 👍🏻
You have so many CRTs already!
@@EposVox ha ha ha I know... But I'd love a PVM/BVM that handles up to 1080i.
Setup looks killer, man! Hope to find a nice BVM or PVM for my room one day, too.
I hate being broke these days... Seeing this makes me wanna go out and get the stuff since I've been working on my retro consoles with hdmi conversions.
BVMs are rad but if you do some research and patiently check like fb marketplace regularly you can find real solid consumer crts for free. Or at least $50 or less. The real big ones though people are itching to give away.
@TheLegend Yeah are you also forcing VGA 480p in GSM it also works for me
Dude, just CRT TVs are awesome and can have amazing picture. Sony Trinitrons, JVC D-Series, and Toshiba AF models are the more lauded of CRT TVs.
I like the natural look of the wood. Very industrial 😉
My gooooodness this is epic
Fire
Great set up! I'm been looking for a webcam that captures a CRT in HD. I wanted to use my phone but I'm not happy with the results. I stream gamecube amd I have a webcam recording my gamecube kiosk during my streams but the image capturing my gamecube kiosk CRT is not always great. Thanks!
Very cool setup...
Thanks!
god i miss CRT. I dont know why I threw mine away 10 years ago lol
You got brainwashed by LCD TV that have Colour saturation set to 100%. It's so cruel that the Walmart employees would do that in 2007 to make people look down on CRT and even plasma TV.
I'm so f**ing glad my parents still have their Bang&Olufsen TV from 1987. It cost them 10 000 SEK, around $1200. In 1987. It's no BVM though.
Ahh Krone currency, You're in Sweden. That B&O TV still better than a retarded LCD TV
This looks amaze balls! Jealous of the CRT
May I ask what the D24 ran you? People seem to ask $3-5k, but it's hard to find actual sold info.
Curious too
was it a full recap?
Great setup ! but a thank's Dad would have been nice !
Seeing a CTR in these days trips me out
Died laughing at the explanation of the crazy train of input converters
Running both HD and retro systems gets messy
hdmi to component seems not to be linked in the description. Need help.
amzn.to/2KYtDTH
Where did you end up finding the bvm?
I covered this lol
Steve from RetroTech hooked me up to buy it
@@EposVox at least it wasn’t Bahb from RetroRGB
How many different inputs from retro gear do you want your setup?
YES
Umm dude... what's is that square thing-y? I'm from the future you know... 😅😁
I haven't seen one... more than a decade? 🤔
8:14 is this an end to the "feud"? :D
Bahaha never
This video is old if you a real fan he said he hasn't tested the mic and I saw a live where he was using it 💜
Started the week before father's day!
@@EposVox You the best man!
PS3 can output RGB, use an xrgb mini to capture and scart/bnc to the bvm
Why the hell would I do that when I have it running with component like everything else? Lol
@@EposVox I'd have everything on RGB
Your game room looks like mine. Absolutely stuffed. Lol. Great set up man!
I just purchased a BVM-D24E1WE from eBay today! Less than 16k hours and picking it up on Saturday. I cannot wait to try it out 😊
Nice, I hope you didn't pay too much, hehe
I noticed you have the FPGA systems in your collection. Can you hook them up to your CRT with the HDMI to component adapter?? I own 3 FPGA systems and was wondering if that would work to hook them up to a CRT. I know that Analogue sells their version but it's quite expensive.
Do you think you could capture some of the OG Xbox Halo CE? Not that much high quality footage out there of it.
What, no SDI Matrix?
I have a few (BNC not SDI) buti don't have room and not worth atm
@@EposVox Oh ok. Would if you could use SDI to route anything to anything. But Congrats on the BVM find! Cheers 👍
Welcome to the bvm club, you def need the bkm 34 H attachment, also look for a bkm 11r remote controller
I do have the control box
Yes the bkm 10r, the 11r is portable
@@EposVox no you don’t. also u shouldn’t be embarrassed to take her advice
tried to click the missing link ... lol
Now get a decent downscaler and downscale everything to 240P for some nice scanlines :-)
Oooooh nice!! I didn't have so much space so i simply RGB modded a flat trinitron TV!! And it works fine!! Check out the video on my CZcams channel!!
such cramped place and too much stuff in there. Probably best to clean most of the things out a bit
Nothing cramped and there’s nothing to clean out. Everything is where it’s supposed to be
Hope you don’t still call these TVs 😂
Broadcast monitors aren't TVs.
