- The Duchess of Cornwall has hosted a reception for winners of the Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition 2021 at St James's Palace.
There the royal - a vice-patron of the Royal Commonwealth Society - paid tribute to Commonwealth countries as they "beautified life for one another, rejoiced in each other's successes, and benefitted from each other's wisdom". Report by Zaina Alibhai.

Camilla has really redeemed herself for the mistakes in the past. She is a tireless worker and an asset to the family.
@D* S Falling in love with someone unreservedly and sincerely is never a mistake. Not everyone has that opportunity and those who do should treasure that gift. Had Lord "Dickie" Mountbatten, the Queen Mother, Diana's maternal grandmother, and Prince Philip as well Camilla's father and her future father-in-law not interfered in Charles and Camilla's romance all those years ago, maybe all of the heartbreak that everyone involved has experienced could have been avoided, but we will never know. However, I do take issue with people who continue to trash Camilla, who begrudgingly throw crumbs of praise her way and continue to demean her character.

HRH DUCHESS CAMILLA is an excellent stepmother, so much so that HRH PRINCE WILLIAM and HRH DUCHESS KATE have let her share with their children as if they were her grandchildren, that says a lot.
I admire Lady Diana, but I don't see her as a perfect person, she had virtues but she also had many defects. I do not judge people for their actions, because we can all make mistakes, that only makes us human beings.
What I do not tolerate is that in Lady Diana her faults try to be ignored and HRH DUCHESS CAMILLA is judged so relentlessly, that fills me with anger.
