☆ALL of my sketchbooks!☆ (warning: cringe)

- Hello!!
This is a very chill and casual video, where I talk about my sketchbooks and comment on them, as we look at my old skeppity sketches! I remember seeing so many comments requesting a sketchbook tour, and I finally decided to make one! It was very interesting to see my progress and evolution as an artist, and analyzing when certain things started influencing my decisions when drawing. Seeing exactly when I started incorporating real life references, when I started looking at other artists, when I started learning how to simplify shapes, it's all really interesting! I hope this video was helpful in inspiring you in your art journey, because really, we're all the same artist with our cringy OCs and anime influences hehe!! Thank you for watching and I'll see ya in my next video!! Bye byeeee ☆☆☆

Its really funny to me how almost every artist i admire starts with anime but art teachers tell us not to
Well actually...i think most people starts with anime style because first they're like "i like this anime character let's draw it" and then they start to like it and make
anime ocs dream about becoming a mangaka so for that they will practice and realise that anatomy, perspective are important and slowly that cringy weeb artist become an actual artist.
@@hmelkees6032 yeah yeah, ik but i guess art teachers fear that we'll stay forever in that phase xD
@@whiterose1973 exactly
@@hmelkees6032 I just wish they wouldn't try and push people out of a phase of development cuz they don't like the content. Gotta leverage what people enjoy about the process.
Agreed but...surprisingly our teachers tolerates Us watching or drawing anime they even watch one themselves i guess you can count that as lucky? That they dont scold or even punish us
why did u have such a good sense of anatomy in the beginning LOL
right?? lol i still don’t have a good sense of anatomy 💀
@@sincerelyissie2725 bruh same, I'm the same age when she drew those anatomy and I still can't draw bodies 😭😭
You may might be practicing incorrectly, with the knowledge of basic proportion, anatomy, and perspective you can easily draw a while body
Good visual memory.?
@@sincerelyissie2725 I used to kind of be able to draw bodies??? But now all I draw are head shots or from the waist up so I’m quit frustrated😫
omg you should definitely do a redraw of your old drawings!
heheHEHEHE it's in my list for future videos!!!
@@milkywaes YESSS GIRLIEEE!!
25:40 when Milkywaes called Killua "Kurapica" my soul left my body
sAME BRO
sometimes i mix their names too lol
I literally started crying :,< lol
I came to comments to see if anyone else noticed 💀
my soul too left my body, i freaked-
Ur style is so aesthetically pleasing

RIGHT
i don't know why i keep watching those videos, they make me feel bad about my art because those artist actually drew a lot and tried, their sketchbooks are full. my sketchbooks are basically empty, i feel like i don't try kqbskavwkvwkwhwkwhkw
Same here, I used to fill up my sketchbooks years ago and now most of them I have now are empty;; idk why, I doodle or sketch anywhere that's not my sketchbook,,
You re doing amazing dont worry about it!! Try to draw more Im sure you ll get so much better 💕💕💕
I remember having a huge threshold to pass until I was able to draw daily in a sketchbook. I don't know, some people seem to have some kind of barrier that prevents them to do things... lol.
Just try to make a habit out of it. Even if you don't feel like it, watch some CZcams videos or a show that you like, open your sketchbook and JUST DO IT. And do it every day until it is ingrained in your brain and hands.
@@Amexella you can stick those pages in your sketchbook though! It’ll make your sketchbook look thicc 🤌🏻 and you won’t feel bad about not drawing in your sketchbook 🥂 win win situation
@@rouz2358 wait that's a really good suggestion, why didn't I think of that? Thank you so much :))

Ikr! When she said that I was like: “That’s Killua, what??” 😃

WORD imma go and make art for myself. I always forget creating art shouldnt be stressful as a hobby thank you for the great motivation🙏♥️
Sketchbook videos are so incredibly inspirational and this one definitely had to be my favourite! The way you talked about the drawings and the inspirations (I've never seen anyone else talk about shugo chara as an inspiration before😳😳) is so,, epic and joyful and wholesome to me!?!! Seeing specifically your, an artist with probably my favourite style ever's evolution as an artist is especially inspirational to me because it's like,, i can do that!! And you are still getting better!!
I am also head over heels for lily and anne they're so pretty and lively jsasjafklfsdskjgf
This comment omg my heart is so warm.... ... .... Thank you so much!!! I'm really so happy this video could make you feel better about your own journey, that was my main goal tbh! Everyone has their own story, and their own influences, so everyone has a unique story to tell!

When people get excited over their OCs it makes me a million times more interested because it’s so wholesome.
i can’t imagine how many years it’s going to take me to improve my art as much as you did 🥲
ITS OKAY JUST KEEP ON DRAWING
That’s right, it takes time. But everyone starts out bad and learns more, if you keep working at it you can be as wonderful an artist as she. You can do it if you stay positive, and keep on practicing whenever you feel like it. Don’t force yourself, then you will get art block and won’t be able to draw and get better
I really appreciate the fact that you keep so many old drawings. It feels really freeing(???) to see what your trajectory was like, instead of just the end product, since you are such an inspiration for me :D

I find it ironic that you were worried that people watched your videos for asmr and not because of your art while I was watching your videos and taking notes because I just straight up loved your painting process lol. I am very happy that your doing videos that makes you feel comfortable please do more. 😊
Your improvement is like speed.
I love your old eyes though. How they pop out of the head. But it is objectly more fun to look at the dynamic bodies. Such a difference when one skips from 13:23 to 36:41. Like the newer ones are such eye candies
Oh my gosh I love how she talks about her OCs, I love how artists will so lovingly create their own worlds (I’m guilty of this) 🥰🥰
I was going to give up art but after watching this I will reconsider it
dont quit!! we all start somewhere even if it may seem like we arent making progress you are!!
"i can’t draw boys" stares because u can draw abs and i can’t
GUESS WHAT
I honestly just never draw boys lmao. I guess because I’m a girl I just feel more of a connection with drawing girls 🤷♀️

I envy you for still having your sketchbooks...I miss mine. This is a great memory to visit from time to time how you started and how far you have come. I getting back at drawing and it's hard since I didn't draw in a long time and my skills have gotten rusty. That's why I'm searching for art videos and I found you. I have to say that I really like your art style :)
honestly I think you can tell that you really had talent from early on and through the tons and tons of practice and following other artists you improved so much and fast!!☺️✨so cool to see get to see your journey!
11:54 OMG, WHEN I SAW MOMO I SCREAMED INTERNALLY LIKE "WAES IS A KAGEROU PROJECT FAN TOO!!"
And at 15:21 there is Konoha
I used to love Shugo Chara as a kid, until I grew up and noticed the age gap... But your art was so amazing, it inspires me to get better
it is such a treat for me to see more seasoned artists show their old sketchbooks as a beginner artist. like look! this is how they learned and how you can. thank you for this gift!
It's amazing how you preserve all of your sketch books. I'm a freshmen in highschool and I only have sketch books from 7th grade and up. And it not that i never had sketchbooks before that it that i was horrible of keeping up with them because my family move a lot
Same here. My sketchbooks start around the same time. I'm sure I have some old stuff from 4th and 5th grade laying around in the basement somewhere... I know I still have a painting I did of bamboo back in kindergarten in 1997 or 1998~ I won first place in an art show thing! I can't remember if it was state-wide or not but it was awesome! I'm so glad my mom held on to that~
It's amazing how much your older artwork reminds me of my stuff from when I was in middle school! That infamous "eye page" with all the different styled eyes hahaha 😅 cat girls, school uniforms, of course the bikini girl, the off-the-shoulder sweater with the extra long sleeves, striped stockings, all that stuff! This brings back so many memories~ I wish I drew half as much as I did back then, and I have more free time now than I did then!
Growing up, I went through all the same stuff you mentioned, too haha 😅 I was really good at copying things in 5th grade, and I remember back in 3rd grade I drew such a great hand on one of my notebooks that nobody believed I didn't trace it lmao. I also won first place in an art show when I was in kindergarden back in 1997/1998-ish! I can't remember if it was city, county, or state-wide, but I won first place with my bamboo ink brush painting~ I even still remember the way the art teacher taught us how to use the brush to paint it, because it was supposed to be like a traditional Japanese or Chinese brush technique.
One questio: What anime did you mention after Tokyo Mew Mew at 5:08 - 5:09? Mozibang? I'm curious~
This is actually a really lovely video to see. I always feel worried because I think "oh gosh if I draw like this now I'll always have to draw like this", but seeing how the way you draw bodies evolves constantly, I'm a lot less worried. Changing tastes and moving from stylistic to realistic and back is totally normal :D
Yes!!! Im glad my video could make you more comfortable with your journey!! Everyone's journey is valid, and each experience adds to your own style!
don't let this whole having a consistent art style hinder your progress, it's fine to draw in multiple art styles and try out new things, polish some areas etc

Oh my goodness my heart fluttered when I saw Lily, Arjun, Ann, and Luca! That was the peak of me watching all your stories and I loved seeing your sketches and little scenarios of them!!! Your drawings are amazing and I’m very inspired by you I’m 13 and I sorta gave up on art but because of this video I’m feeling motivated by seeing your progress and seeing how good you got and seeing that I realize that I could do better too

Its so motivational, seeing your journey. I really want to work hard and grab a piece of paper rn and I will when the video is done. Thank you so much! You’re one of my fav artists!

i really really like when i find random artists that speak English and then i find out they're Brazilian... meu caderno de desenho JASIDJIAFA AMEI
I really like seeing artist going through their old sketchbooks and new ones. As I kid I always like art, but I didn't draw much cause I didn't have any inspiration and I was so insecure and thought I sucked and that pretty much made me waste a lot if time. I watched anime back then but didn't think of drawing I only read books .. Now I'm 16 and I wanted to start drawing again and become and animator cause dreams haha. I know if I try and have fun drawing I'll get better like you. By the way this video is really soothing
This was such a heartwarming and inspiring video. And I'm very happy you were so positive about your old art, I was nervous about that because of the title.
OMG u are brazilian!
You have completely lifted my spirits, I was waiting for a new video, thank you !!
36:00 dude it's so cool to see how much more confidence and understanding of shape you have in these messy yet controlled sketches, the poses are still so readable even with the heavy stylization and sketchy linework. like with the girl on the right page jumping, with so few well placed lines you foreshortened the raised leg, and it's clear what this dynamic pose is trying to get across.
Você me inspira tanto...
You should admit that your videos are such a place to relax and just flow with sound of your voice~
I love this type of videos because they are inspiring. Seeing how an artist started from messy doodles, and most of the time from such an early age and then developed to what they are today, it's just amazing and, once more, inspiring nonetheless.
I keep my old sketchebooks too (except the oldest, I threw it away lol) and from time to time I like to see them and I feel proud of how much I improved, the reminiscence and the feels of those moments, so nostalgic!
BTW, I hope we can see more about Honey and Baby in the near future!

7:13 you said you had a big ego at that time. Honestly for your age and skill you had every right to be proud. It was something you were good at and with time you’ve gotten better! Don’t discredit your past masterpieces 😾
I love how tons of artists (including me) start with a SIMILAR style that you did, but then ended up with so many different types of style. The style I have now is nothing like the style I started with. I love to see other artist's progression.
It IS really fun to see all the drawings! I like seeing the progress and your commentary on each one. It sounds like I'm talking to a friend. I didn't think it was cringy at all

Omg, this is inspiring! And also gives some kind of nostalgic vibes to my happy era of drawing after school and having those drawing books all around. Now that I am an adult I slowly sink into drawing again and trying to feel same happiness it gave me in 2006-2009 yrs. This is kinda hard. But I'm still trying!

nooooo as soon as you said "just be friends!" i was SNAPPED BACK to that mv oh my gosh!!!!!! your old anime style is so cute though - you're right about it having a certain charm!!!
My friend shared this video with me and told me it felt reminiscing. This is the most wholesome sketchbook-tour experience I've had! It's so happily-overwhelming seeing you speak with such love for your art, from old to new, re-living your feelings you had at the time and being so full of joy..!!
Thank you for posting this, it was a very joyful 40 minutes that I was smiling the entire way and laughing, thinking a lot of us have been through the same and/ or similar phases, watching youtube channels about drawing anime, having cool inspirations that influenced us in wonderful ways etc.
To anyone reading this; I encourage you to adopt this kind of attitude towards your art. It is incredibly freeing to love your art for what it is, and let no-one tell you otherwise. Be it a wonky or failed sketch or just "bad art", they are all allowed to exist and have every right to, and you have every right to keep going and doing what you love, for yourself first and foremost! Just like milkywaes said, "I was feeling I made a masterpiece at the time", then it is a masterpiece for one person, if it's only you, and that is your own truth. Treasure your sketches, treasure your art. My art is sacred for me and treating it with love will only make you happier about it. I promise!
I LOVE YOUR HAIR !!
