An alternative to the flower cubes is berry cubes - that way when the ice melts your drink isn't full of limp petals. Raspberry cubes would be great for gin!

Not all of them. Opt for cheaper ones, or maybe pick them from abandoned fields. Those are for decorations only, too.
@@andinarizkia most flowers that grow wild do not make good cut flowers, they will wilt and fall apart in an hour or less depending on the weather. Flowers that you get from florists are usually specific breeds that last best when cut.

For my sister I made pulled pork then stuffed it in wonton wrappers and fried them. Makes a great finger food if you want to add something savory to the party.

Just in general, if you want your box cake to taste better: Instead of water and oil, use milk and melted butter. Makes the cakes taste and (mouth)feel more... homemade??

Protip: never push floral foam under water, this creates air pockets and doesn't allow it to take in as much water. Let it take on water and it naturally sink. Also, wear breathing protection if cutting the foam blocks because you don't want green dust in your lungs.
