- Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is addressing the Libertarian National Convention in Washington, DC, Friday afternoon.
Although Kennedy indicated last month he would not seek the Libertarian Party’s nomination, he has long promoted libertarian policies and values.
Democrat-aligned PAC MoveOn has invested in a mobile billboard campaign to dissuade convention attendees from supporting Kennedy.
Former President Trump will also be speaking at the Libertarian convention this weekend. Trump has been ahead of Biden in recent swing state polls. But the lead is narrow enough in some that a small number of independent and Libertarian voters could make the difference in the electoral college.
Kennedy is scheduled to appear at 3:30 p.m. EDT.

Further, when government employees use their positions to give preferential treatment to friends or to punish people they want to destroy, they should be subject to legislation that allows them to be prosecuted, fined and/or jailed. It happens far too often and is a huge violation of basic human rights!

I'm almost 82. I was 26 when Bobby Kennedy was assassinated . Some Precious part of me died the night Bobby was murdered. But that part of me has been resurrected with Bobby Kennedy Junior's candidacy for POTUS. When I first heard he was running, I had bought into the mainstream media portrayal of him as a conspiracy nut but I felt I owed it to Bobby to at least give his son a listening to. I'm so glad I did! After listening to many interviews I got a feel for his sincerity and Integrity. What's more, when I learned of his practicing a rigorously honest spiritual program, being an old friend of Bill's, well, that just put me over the moon! His emphasis on placing principles before personalities and not impugning the motives of others, but focusing only on policy differences keeps him out of the childish blame-game pettiness which has characterized politics for the last few presidential cycles. For the last 15 years or so I've heard Republicans complain that liberals, like communists, want to redistribute the wealth from the Rich to the Poor. Well, I've been around a while and my experience over the last 50 years or so tells me that through corporate lobbying, payoffs, financing campaigns, etc., Corporate America has more than just captured the Agencies which are supposed to regulate it. It has captured the Whole political system, both Republicans and Democrats to essentially establish a political duopoly which has dismantled the union movement, decimated the middle class and created the homeless class with exorbitant rental rates, interest rates on homes and credit cards, school loans, and stagnated wages over the last 45+ years. And so, the Rich, as plutocrats will, have been Redistributing the wealth from the Poor and Middle-class to the Rich! Bobby knows how to stop this because he's been suing Corporate America and the government agencies that are captured by Corporate America for polluting and injuring people, winning billions of dollars in judgments for the last 40 years.
I think Bobby wants us to trade Crony Capitalism for Conscientious Capitalism. I'm for that!
I was terrified, I do not want to live throw another heartbreak. The 60’s was a nightmare, that only the people that lived throw it will ever understand.

Yes, I feel exactly the same. There are some younger people who don't understand because they can't remember a time when civil liberties were valued, news people were supposed to be unbiased, and the American dream was attainable. I'm at the libertarian convention and Kennedy knocked it out of the park! He got multiple standing ovations from the libertarians! Awesome moment to be a part of! He took us to school on the bill of rights. Then he showed how each and every one had been violated by the last two administrations the net result of each has been a disaster for democracy. I hope that speech gets put up right away!

If you go back 10 or 11 months ago and check out what he says in his town hall interviews. He told me things that the other 2 didn't and won't. Plus the fact that he wants to pardon Edward Snowden, Julian Assonge is another big thing for me. I've always felt they committed NO CRIMES.

@@cindyspiess9963 originally it was a debate which RFK challenged all who would accept/attend. Watching RFK’s speech 🎤 I saw everyone agreeing with the points, facts he was making and referencing. When he asked questions everyone in unison answered. All in all RFK got a very positive reaction from the Libertarians.

I hope my father, USMC Korea, was able to hear this from the other side. He carried a burden his whole life from war and lived believing he fought for these values for his children and country.

Kennedy is a classical liberal which falls into the libertarian right quadrant of the political spectrum, I’m sure the libertarians are running their no name ancap but they have zero shot and making any change and are just a spoiler for the only real third party running on similar issues and values at worst and at best they’re a sacrificial lamb so the libertarians keep ballot access for the next cycle.

RFK while not infallible, is the most real candidate for president in my life. The breadth of his knowledge is impressive and his courage to speak out boldly is rare.
No one is perfect. He is so far above the others. Vote for RFK Jr.

What makes RFK Jr so good a candidate for president, and why he would make an outstanding president, is his great knowledge and understanding of US history overall, of the beginnings of this country, and being an extremely well-read person. I kind of wish the Libertarian party would nominate him as their 2024 presidential candidate so he can get more easily on the ballots of the rest of the states, rather than as an independent candidate. Even though, back when he was alive, everyone saw this cousin, the late JFK Jr as America's 'Kennedy Crown Prince', maybe, hidden in the wings, it was RFK Jr, all along who was the actual "Kennedy Crown Prince,' who would eventually run for president and be the Kennedy messiah that saves America.

This was more focused on the Constitution, but Bobby speaks like this on all topics. Informed, logical, with consistent integrity.
