I always loved how densely populated Sleeping Dog’s version of Hong Kong was even though it didn’t have the biggest open world . All the NPCs and shopping districts always felt full of life .
I feel like a lot of open world games are just too big,I’d rather have smaller,more densely populated world with more uniquely looking and animated npc’s,like sleeping dogs did,by looking around you can pick up on so many little details,makes the world so much more interesting.

As a Hong Konger I can't express how much I love this game. I played the game through three times and its just amazing. The story gets you the feels and the progression system is extremely rewarding. Combat feels great and the gunplay is above average as well. It was so sad that this game never gets a sequal and it only got the recognition after like 5 years after its original release and now the studio has been shut down :(
@@1521Palm it’s not the most accurate. I would say it’s a more arcady Hong Kong. They just have different Hong Kong landmarks that are in different locations put within the 4 areas in the game. Also gang members definitely does not have well spoken English. Most citizens just cuss when you walk around the world, which is inaccurate but cussing is a big part of the beauty of Cantonese. Overall the general feel of the open world does feel like HK but more on the arcade side
My girlfriend had played this whilst visiting a friend in Hong Kong, she bought it for me like 2 years ago I played it like 6 months ago, 35 hours and platinumed it, loved it brilliant game
this is something i really liked about the game, it felt like it had a good pacing, and wasnt too problematic to platinum. a few things broke for me, but it still worked out in the end.

I remember getting this game for free in 2013 when I bought an R9 290x. To this day it is still one of the only open world games that has the world's most satisfying vehicle combat to date. It's the only game where you can jump out of a car, shoot people, and land on another car just to hop in and steal it, all very seamlessly. I think "underrated" is still a good way to describe the game. For a game released in 2012 it contains many features that even high budget AAA games still have never bothered to implement.
i remember installing the game just because i have a bad pc which can't afford to run watchdogs 2 , turns out it was a better choice than wd 2 . it's sad that it doesn't receive any more DLC updates .

That's because IT was supposed to be part of the True Crime series as TC: Hong Kong but diverged or some legal issues iirc then that was cancelled and we got this, Sleeping dogs, it become some sort of a spiritual successor to True Crime
It is a part of True crime trilogy and is so much better than the previous true crime games, especially the first True crime was baggy as hell and very empty open world, the second was better with snoop Dogg as a main character and more techniques, better open world etc. sleeping dogs after is a huge improvement.
Love this game. The spooky chinese dlc is great fun too, and the Bruce Lee movie inspired one is fun. The characters are so vivid. The fighting is cool - learning all those special moves. The sequence when you return the jade statues, the dates, the races, the wedding stuff, there is just so much. Oh, and dont forget to get your boost from the 'massage' - although there is a guy who does actually do massage too. 😁 The homes you get. The definitive edition is a real treat. Did I mention that I LOVE this game?😁

Been waiting for you to do a vid on Sleeping Dogs. I played it when it came out years ago, then I replayed it last year and my god it’s still amazing. The graphics are good, the martial arts type combat system is amazing, the gun play is a little underwhelming, but all around the story is actually captivating and keep me in after hours and hours of playing! Recommend it to anyone who hasn’t played it
Probably my favourite game ever, so ahead of its time and perfectly captures the fun and crazy open world crime charm that games like GTA had but with an amazing and easy to follow story, something that GTA games often lack. Not to mention, the combat, a badass protagonist and a beautiful map. Also it has unbelievable amounts of side content, probably my favourite platinum trophy. Whilst attention for this game is increasing by the day it is still definitely one of the games ever.

Sleeping dogs got the best DLCs I've seen in a game, the outfits are fantastic with the special abilities and the zodiac island was badass. I liked that square enix added the Agent 47 and Adam Jensen outfit and a lot of references to classic martial arts movies.
I think this was my first introduction to open world games and I absolutely fell in love with it. Awesome story telling, graphics at the time were great, and top voice acting. Even a little cameo from Emma Stone!!

I have such fond memories of this game, I was in high school and it got released during the summer break. Those were the days!

This might be one of the few open world world games that i actually enjoy exploring on foot, I don’t know many games that made me lose track on what I’m doing and wonder off to the streets of Hong Kong. Even though I suck at driving on the left side of the road. It’s a welcoming experience to drive on the left side of the road in this game.

The atmosphere in this game is awesome. And i spend many hours just fighting arena in this game. Combat is really good.
I absolutely love this game it’s awesome and unique and I’ve beat it several times…. There definitely needs to be more of this type of game or a continuation…
This game holds up great even for today and that’s sort of amazing for an older game to still be a clear top tier game today

I always look back at playing this game as a great time. So depressing we'll never get a sequel. Looking forward to when the mood strikes again to play this beast a third time
I think the setting and story was what made the game so special
And the combat, parkour, driving mechanics.
There are luxury apartment but I still love the first and you can improve it by going to the near market and change the bed etc .
Sleeping dogs is such a game. Truly a form of entertainment that you can interact with for fun. One of the games of all time!

Late to your channel. But I wish they would make a sequel. This game was so good. I’ve been saying it for years this game was like neck and neck with GTA for me. That’s how good it was.
Finally someone said it, I remember when I first played it & still to this day love the combos & fighting styles took a little getting used to but was a fun combat system
