      Hi , we wanted to visit Grand Hotel Giessbach as well , can we drive and park there? Thanka again for your help :)

    • @happyshellfilms
      @happyshellfilms  Před rokem

      Yes, you can drive to Giessbach. You can set your navigation to Giessbach Hotel, it basically follows the bus route. When you get to the Giessbach junction bus stop there will be a fork in the road, follow the lower road and drive for another 800 meters and you will see the parking lot. Walk another 150 meters from the parking lot and you will see Giessbach falls on your left and the hotel on your right. At the 5:38 mark on the video is the bus stop I am referring to.

    Excellent video. Can three couples purchase the family boat ticket? How much is the advantage to single tickets? Where can we purchase this? What is the route of the boat ? Can we stop at Giessbach go around then return to the boat?

    • @happyshellfilms
      @happyshellfilms  Před rokem

      @Renato Sio. The family day pass is suitable for two adults and up to 4 children and is only available online. However, buy a Lake Brienz Day Pass for 60 Swiss francs each. With the day pass, you can make as many journeys as you like on scheduled boats. You can buy the day pass from this site: bls.trekksoft.com/en_GB/activity/311978/day-pass-lake-brienz. I am unsure if you can buy the day pass at the station. To give you an idea, a round-trip ticket to Giessbach from Interlaken Ost will cost you 50 Swiss francs. You can explore the BLS trip planner here to show you how much the ticket costs. www.bls.ch/en/fahren/fahrplan
      I have also linked here the boat schedule so you can properly plan your trip. It lays out all the stops and the departure times. Look at page 10 of the brochure, as that will be the period that you will be in Interlaken. The brochure is in Swiss-German but is fairly understandable. I suggest making stops at Brienz, Giessbach, and Iseltwald. www.bls-schiff.ch/sites/default/files/2022-12/Fahrplan_BLS-Schifffahrt_2022-23.pdf

      All the video footage you've seen was taken in late April of this year (2022). It was a mix of sunshine, rain, and snow in the higher elevations.

      @@happyshellfilms thanks for a quick reply. we are planning to visit next year april 28-may7. do you think they will have same weather as you experience ?

    • @happyshellfilms
      @happyshellfilms  Před rokem +1

      The weather was quite unpredictable in April. In the 5 days, we were in the Interlaken region, there were 3 days of rain and 2 days of sunshine. To be safe, you might want to travel for good weather in June or late May at the earliest. I asked my relatives in Switzerland and based on their experience they said that sunny weather usually starts in Mid-May.

    • @happyshellfilms
      @happyshellfilms  Před 2 lety

      We were there the last week of April and the first week of May. It was raining most of the time and snowing in the higher elevations. My relatives who live in Switzerland told me that it could still be snowing as late as the middle of May. However, June should be sunny, generally. If you just want to see snow on the ground, it is present all year round in the mountains like Jungfrau and Zermatt.
