The restaurant owner was really friendly and has perfect English. The taxi driver was a great guy, so patient. Nepal seems a lovely country which produced some of the finest fighting soldiers we in the UK had the privilege of having in our army's, The Gurkhas.

Exactly, the rumor has been spread all over the world calling it as Monkey temple just because there are many Monkeys around it. But in fact, it is called as " Swayambhu Nath", pronounce it as " Swo-yam-bhu-nath", which is a symbolic pride of Lord Gautam Buddha as a peace keeping Pagoda.

Yeah most of the people in Nepal are hindus but we also worship and follow buddha so technically Nepali hindus are mix of both buddhisim and hindusim so its very diffrent than indian hindus

Nepal is a country's where two major religion lives in peace & harmony. And we hindu from Nepal believe lord buddha is incarnation of lord Vishnu. so yeah buddha is a Hindu god. And Buddhist worship Hindu good too. only applied in Nepal not in the rest of the world. Swayambhu, meaning 'Self-Created or Self-Existent'.
