    It should be noted that Pickett is doing an impression of actor Boris Karloff. Karloff first came to fame playing the Frankenstein monster in the 1931 version. He had a career playing in horror films and became synonymous with all things horror. He also narrated the original animated version of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas".

    • @gl2996
      @gl2996 Před 2 lety +17

      I had the same thought. Pickett does a great impression of both Karloff and Bela Lugosi, and it's just sad that it's likely nobody in this video has any clue that that's what he's doing. It's the whole selling point of the song ...besides the catchy tune, that is.

    • @mnomadvfx
      @mnomadvfx Před 2 lety +7

      @Tommy Robinson Easily the best version of the Grinch to boot.
      The animation, the voice acting and the Dr Zeuss atmosphere are just great.

    • @giannag4581
      @giannag4581 Před 2 lety +3

      Don't forget he played Frankenstein's Monster and The Mummy. I'm so glad that Boris Karloff was able to do the voice in the Grinch for his last performance.

      @Richard B
      Karloff also hosted "Thriller", a terrific suspense anthology tv series in the early 60's. I was a little kid but I still remember it.

      @@giannag4581 In the play, "Arsenic and Old Lace" there's an escaped killer and the joke is that he looks just like Boris Karloff. They actually had Karloff play the role in the play. But Raymond Massey played the part in the movie version. But they still say he looked like Boris Karloff.

    He's actually doing the voices of horror film actors Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi, mostly Karloff. Boris Karloff played that Frankenstein Monster and other roles, Lugosi played Count Dracula a few times . Their films were classic horror movies along with The Werewolf, The Mummy, The Fly, Creature From The Black Lagoon, and many others

    • @theloneranger8725
      @theloneranger8725 Před 2 lety +2

      Oh, yes. Let's not forget the man who made The Werewolf famous, versatile actor Lon Chaney, Jr. Also Vincent Price, who became synonymous with the classic horror film actor.

    • @dennytate26
      @dennytate26 Před 2 lety

      Bela Lugosi only played Dracula twice, in the film Dracula ofcourse and the only other time was in Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein, but he played Igor in son of Frankenstein and played Frankenstein's monster in Frankenstein meets the Wolfman.

    • @biguy617
      @biguy617 Před 3 měsíci

      There was a campy Monster Squad TV series in 1976 that has Dracula, Wolfman, and Frankenstein Monster but they had to make the monsters look different from how they looked in Universal Monsters. The series Wolfman looked like a hairy pig or Warthog.

This video was an absolute delight, and Amber, your co-hosts may be giving you a run for your money soon! I'm so excited for Female Friday tomorrow, and have some real favourites to suggest (if possible): First is Janis, of course, with Mercedes Benz (under two minutes long), and please make sure you listen to the end! Second is The Pointer Sisters, with their first hit, Yes We Can Can (from 1973, look for the six minute version) - the first 45 rpm record I ever bought!

    THIS IS THE MOST HYSTERICALLY CUTE THING I've SEEN ALL DAY! These two little beauties that you have absolutely lifted my spirits up today. Believe me when I tell you that I really needed it! I was dying over here laughing looking no one daughters face because she just automatically exactly knew how to perfectly imitate his scowl! Your youngest daughter was over there and "giving the eyes" and kind of like moving the eyebrows at the camera! I was like oh my God look at these two that's so funny! I love that in the beginning both of them took on a limitation of almost a Frankenstein character. Then they split off into their personalities and 1wenf more for a Frankenstein imitation and the other went more towards the zombie imitation with her claws coming towards us! They absolutely GOT into the whole mood of what he was trying to say. They both captured it so perfectly and quickly! I was like yeah girls.. KEEP GOING! YOU GOT IT! This absolutely made my day and I'm so glad you exposed them to this. For the record this is one of my favorite songs. My birthday is right before Halloween and I'm a bit older than you. Now this song WAS OUT when I was younger. So YUP I have had this song played it every single one of my birthday parties as a kid! What makes me so happy about seeing your daughters do this is because I remember doing almost the same thing with the Frankenstein and little zombie movements they were doing when I was little too with my friends. Watching them have fun with this reminds me SO MUCH of all the fun I had as a kid.. since my birthday is a few days before Halloween~my parents always made it into a Halloween party! 🎃 So all my friends got to come over wearing their costumes early. Plus they always went home with bags of candy besides already having cake & candy, caramel and Candy apples too at our house. Oh yeah, we all were pretty pretty jacked up on sugar those nights but we had a lot of fun! 😂 I have to tell you I love anytime that you involve your children on your channel. That's because I wasn't lucky enough to have children so I always enjoy watching other people have fun with theirs. I have five nephews but the youngest one is NOW 19! So it's kind of like all those fun goofy years a long gone now and I get to relive if by watching other parents with their little kids doing happy things that I remember doing my nephews. I was always the cool Aunt cuz since I never had kids I would be the one to spoil them. That whole idea when I'm babysitting and you're going to bed at 8:00? If you behaved that went right out the window honey. Because if you were good and your homework was done? If none of you guys argued with each other and behaved good all night? And that guy kicked right back to 9:30 and we're watching another movie. JUST DON'T rat me out to your parents. Or trust me, I don't want to hear it for my brother and next time IT WILL go right back to 8:00. I will enjoy having that TV from 8:00 to myself for the rest of the night. This choice is entirely up to you young men how this plays out. 😂 I loved watching your girls today I was it's such a bad place when I got up today but they made me very happy. Thank you for sharing their joy with experiencing this song with the rest of us. #RockOnLittleLadies #NYERGenXBikerLady

    Just for your information, there is a new version of this song that is so much fun. Look up Geoff Castilucci, Monster Mash. I think you and the girls would really enjoy it. Plus Geoff can hit some amazing low bass notes. Love you all!

    It's a take off of the most famous of Frankenstein Monsters, Mr. Boris Karloff. He's imitating Mr. Karloff's facial and speech mannerisms.
