@@weneedhim526 First of all, I never mentioned Michael Jordan.
Secondly, I dont think the Spurs wouldve won this series, but god damn it, it wouldve been entertaining! Probably a 6, possibly 7 game series.
What people dont remember is how hyped up this matchup was. In the legendary 2015-16 season, the Warriors and Spurs were both competing for the top spot till their second to last matchup. Each game was a thriller, and the Spurs are the one team who had a 67-15 record and somehow didnt get the 1st seed. The Warriors fast paced, 3 point shooting, small ball style vs. the Spurs methodical, fundamental, defensive, slower paced style. It was super entertaining seeing the two teams go back and forth for who was controlling the game. Each game felt like the playoffs. We were supposed to play the Spurs in the 2016 Playoffs. But then the Thunder beat them, and the rest is history. Now obviously, I dont regret the Spurs doing that year cuz the 2016 WCF is some of the best ever. But we were supposed to see this match the following year. And then... this happened.
Now, that being said, the Warriors were having an unusually bad game. Kawhi was having a great game. You cant tell me the whole series was going to be like this. The Spurs had this game. However, the fact that they completely collapsed after Kawhi got hurt and couldn't even hold on to a massive lead they have in the middle of the third quarter or win a single game. I have a hard time believing a team that did that was actually going to win this series.
If you look at how they shot in the first half, compare it to their season averages, hell, compare it to their season games against the Spurs, they had an off game that first half.
The Spurs win this game, but not the series.
