Stay in June 23 really enjoyed this hotel good location and very comfortable hotel price slightly higher than most but well worth it. Thanks Trevor great channel 👍

Yes have stayed there . Personally I though it was expensive and not very friendly. Also not all the rooms have been renovated , I was in one that hadn't been and it was not good . My thai gf had to show id every time she came in . I'm not critical of your video which was a good format showing the surroundings but I feel viewers need to be aware of the negative aspects. this is a great idea, as a first time visitor, I have no idea what's in each area or surrounding streets etc, I loved the walk about, great idea. I've actually decided to change my original hotel to this because it's shown me nearby amenities, bars, food places etc...please continue these

Nice review to mix things up a bit 👍. Also good to see the area around the hotel. If you thought 216 rooms was a big hotel, imagine reviewing the Ambassador at Na Jomtien with over 4,200 rooms. Largest in Thailand and in the Top 10 largest in the world! The area is full of surprises 😃

There was a bar opposite the areaka Lodge Hotel. It had a cage with a toucan guiness bird in it. I used to walk past it for going on 20 years. I thought to myself blimey they must live a long time. One day I stopped and had a good look at it for ages, abd it never moved. Turns out it was stuffed lol

I've stayed in the Arecca Lodge for about 20 years now. its always been friendly, clean, renovated rooms, great breakfast and staff

@Raymond Turner Always 9am Thai time. Clocks don't change here. So, 2am GMT in the winter and 3am BST in the summer?

I stayed in the Areca Lodge in the Evergreen building in a Super Deluxe room (the second room you showed). I stayed for a month starting in mid-September and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. They have 2 great swimming pools too. The Evergreen building is set back from Soi Diana and from my room you could hardly hear any noise from the bars even when on the balcony.
This video format is great but I would just give a bit more detail about the hotel, e.g. how many restaurants, pools etc.. You didn’t mention either of those or that Areca has in-house massage and a fitness room too. Seeing the surrounding area is great. I spent a few nights at the Inn Love bar. The manageress is a lovely lady and the owner is a nice guy too.

Areca is in a great location, very centralized. Stayed there my 1st time to Pattaya in 2017. However haven’t stayed there since as they seem to always be booked to capacity for when I want to go to Pattaya. Having stayed here I highly recommend it.

great format and a really good look at a hotel in a popular area. I also like the extra stroll along Soi Diana as it's not often covered all the way along. I'm staying at the Vogue early next year so the area in this video is more than handy, and the little bars towards the end could well be a great spot for a chilled refreshment. Thumbs up :)

I have been strictly using over-the-counter reading glasses for 30 years. Never a problem. The reason I started using them is because when I went to my optometrist for the first time about reading glasses, the optometrist told me never to buy prescription reading glasses. They are too expensive and the over-the-counter reading glasses are just as good for a very cheap price. So, don't warn people not to use them if you never used them.

Stayed at the Areca many times. Will be there in January. Great location. The smaller of the pools is shaded most of the day for those who want to escape the sun. As you say, Patrick’s is excellent as is the Beefeater. Not like the Beefeaters n the U K fortunately. Enjoyed the video. Can I suggest the LK Metropole for the future. Just down the road and great location also but I’ve not actually stayed there. Will buy you a beer if I see you next month.

I'm a Areca Lodge fan, stayed there first time 2010.
Best location, and nowdays the rooms have a great facelift, last stay was in January 2022.
Areca have 2 really nice swimpools. Even in low seasons Areca can be fullbooked. So it's not only me that love this hotel. Great video again Trev 👍

Great video! I love the Areca Lodge. Good price, great location. I've stayed there many times. One suggestion, there are 3 buildings, maybe you look at each building and show the rooms from the different buildings? That detail is hard to find, so a guy on the ground would be immensely helpful. Also, Craft Cottage has some great coffee drinks! And the massage place right next to the Renaissance Hotel is great. Thanks for the video, looking forward to the next one!

I like this, the earlier part showing the accomodation surrounds which is what is hard to work out using online maps is really useful. Rooms reviews were short and sharp, overall hotel experiance part was excellent and pretty much all someone needs to make a call on the venue. Comments from the other users here regarding the hotel is probably what would swing me either way. Thanks mate. Excellent video

A cheese and ham toastie brings back fond memories of 1969 back packing through Amsterdam and Europe. First thing in the morning, a coffee, a toastie and a chilim of Hash. Cheap hostales, rather accomodating young ladys from distant parts of the world. Oh do I miss those days. 😎

That tall building you pointed out is Edge condos I stayed in The Base condos, which is the tall building right next to it. I miss Pattaya so much!!! Hopefully I'll be back at the end of january.

Stayed at the Areca for 23 nights last year. Great location, staff, rooms, restaurant, gym and vibe all good. 2 pools as you mentioned, 1 is absolutely always freezing as it's always in shade, the other is partly in shade so a little better. That's the only negative.

I think you did a great job! I've stayed at the Areca Lodge many times and so I have no hesitation about recommending it. The only time I had an issue with the hotel was their room wifi. I nagged and said it wasn't working. After about 3 days, I decided to speak to the manager and ask for a different room if they weren't going to fix it. I spoke to a woman who took care of it by the afternoon. Breakfast food tastes good and they have a fair selection. The grounds are well maintained and the staff are friendly. Off hand, the best hotel for the price IMHO.

I've stayed multiple times at the Areca Lodge. If you wake up late, you can go to the other breakfast offerings in the other breakfast areas. Very close to LK metro.

It's great seeing the area and it's interesting seeing the hotels too. There are a bunch of hotels on and around Soi 12/Soi 13, some new and some ancient, that might be worth checking out.

I've stayed here in 2017, nice place, friendly staff and it's not noisey even with it being near everything, I just recommend looking for a good deal and try to get the rooms that are updated. Good format Trev, brief view inside and seeing what's about outside, all about location 👌👍

This is great ! See the locale, then see the hotel. I think over time, the rooms will all start to look the same. For me, the facilities of a hotel usually differentiates it : the pool; whether the pool is in the sun or the shade; the fitness room; if there is a sauna ("just go outside mate !") etc. This was really good ! Suggestion : Make a "playlist" on this YTube channel and save all the hotel review videos there. Makes them much easier to find.

I always stay at centra next door. Small roof top pool and modern rooms.
Back on the 2nd March. Was going with friends as they never but now let me down.

Great place , stayed a few times with the family. Wife has friends in Do Drop In Bar (opposite Areca), Rinapp and 2 massage shops on 13/1 , and Matador on Tree town so its easy access when in town and it hasnt been unknown for adrinking session in the room 555.

Stayed there on last two trips to Pattay . Great hotel with a really friendly and helpful manager and staff. Would not stay anywhere else if going to Pattaya.

Directly across the street, back in the restaurant is a great laundry. And the pharmacy across the street to the right is an excellent pharmacy, they speak great English and very helpful. My go to pharmacy no matter where I stay. Directly across from the pool hall you pointed out is a great massage shop. Not the happy ending type, but a legit massage. Been going there the last 10 years or so. Longhorn steak house is a good restaurant. Recommend it.

Stayed there in September. Got it for £700 for 3 weeks via Agoda. Breakfast ok. Lady will do eggs whichever style you like Pretty central lk metro and soi buakow in easy reach

Thanks, GREAT review, mate !!! I will stay in Areca Lodge from Jan 3rd to Jan 31st (luckily I booked in August already). I know the area very well, but it's my first time staying in Areca Lodge. Looks like I made the right choice !!!!! Btw. I like this concept of hotel and/or condo reviews (I also follow them on "Everything Pattaya" and two german CZcamsrs). What I escpecially liked is your approach of also showing the surrounding area, not just the rooms, pool, prices etc. ! 👍👍👍

good walkabout vlog thanks Trev, i try to avoid the franchised eateries like subway/macdonalds/burgerking etc because the profits don't stay in Thailand although i am a sucker for sizzlers!. Nemo is a great massage and the lady boss has perfect English, no "happy ending" but they do a brilliant combo, two hours Thai/oil/foot/aroma etc for a bargain price...........word of warning, if you go for the Thai massage the lady will walk on you so make sure pick petite one!!!

The Robin's Nest was one of my favorite eateries. Clean inside, fresh food. The lasagna special and salad they had every week was a good taste of home. The Sunday carvery was very very good

It would be nice to know about places that are away from the tourist area's where you can be at peace and relax a bit. Then ride in town when you want to enjoy the night life, if you know of any please share and thanks for all the videos they definitely help alot.

Always interested in hotel reviews. Two points of interest #1 Guest Policy and additional charges if any and Point #2 Is breakfast included in the room price or a separate charge.

You have the option when booking with or without breakfast. The breakfast is buffet style as much as you can eat.
If your guest wants breakfast you just pay extra for him/her for their breakfast

I stayed once in Areca Lodge and felt it was overpriced. You can get better deals with equal or better hotels from close by.

For Dec 1 I was quoted 2,999 for Areca so I stayed at LK Metropole just down the stree for 1/2 the price. I like them both but will go with Metrpole in Feb. Great staff, clean rooms and small pool.

Stayed at the At the Areca Lodge for 7 nights, Exellant Location and great staff, But rooms are a bit outdated and the Internet is terrible (not that you would be using it). Would rather pay the baht bus/motor bike to get to this area 2 be honest as what you said

Always good advice 05:30 about picking up a girl in a bar near your hotel. I did that the very first time in Pattaya 20 years ago , it was a package holiday so I couldn't move hotels . You Live and learn.

Stayed at the Areca a few times (Mainly because of the pools ) ,Evergreen wing over looking the second pool .Can't fault it .Doesn't bother me the shower is over the bath .Clean ,and the Staff are Lovely 🙏But by Christ the prices have gone up since the last time i stayed there 🤦♂

You made it close to the amethyst lol.. yes we like a variety at least us new people who haven't been there alot and are not familiar as to what's in the area. Some hotels have alot of info on them which is nice so questions answered. But the ones there isn't much info on cause there newer or people haven't really stayed there and gave a review it's nice to see those. Like the amethyst 😀😃😃 especially guest friendly, charge for a 3rd person ect. I know most are all girl friendly but I've seen alot with cheap 3rd person fees and some with high 3rd person fees. I especially love the ones with balconys, whirlpool tubs in the rooms, and the glass between the bedroom and shower haha
