Chris and James Wilsey were a great team. I love it when Chris high-fives James after the song ends. They did the same thing a few years later when they came on to perform “Wicked Game.” Rest In Peace, James Calvin Wilsey.
A National Treasure this guy ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Blue Hotel was the first Chris Isaak song that I ever heard, and I was hooked the minute I heard it..unfortunately I missed so many amazing years of Chris's music, but I made up for lost time very quickly! He's a hugely talented guy, and has a 'wicked' sense of humour too. From your biggest Scottish fan!
Jimmy was pure magic....him and Chris were magical together....thanks world for our time with JCW it was something to behold.....miss you Jimmy.
I had read about Chris as a new artist in Playboy magazine...but this early Letterman appearance was where I saw & heard him perform for the very first time...bought the album the very next day...been a huge fan ever since...attended my first Chris Isaak performance at a Midtown Atlanta club in '88...got to speak with then lead guitarist Jimmy Wilsey at the bar after the show...seen Chris live several times since...love nearly every song on every album....
Wow!! those were the days when Letterman was funny as hell! Cheers to a Bay Area artist!!!
We'll continue to watch this one while yours sits in storage. Thanks Jerkyfish for the video.
Great rendition. Really got into Isaak's work after Lockdown happened.
it's old, bit great, thanks for posting.
Oh, "the guy" who tried to kick letterman Is Crispin Glover and he is a god. Btw Chris you would go on to do a movie with him 3 years later.
god i love this man :O
Wish we could have heard Paul and the band doing complete versions of The Yardbirds "Heart Full of Soul" and "For Your Love."

Blue Hotel, on a lonely highway,
Blue Hotel, life don't work out my way.
Blue Hotel, on a lonely highway,
Blue Hotel, life don't work out my way.
I wait alone each lonely night.
Blue Hotel...
Blue Hotel...
Blue Hotel, every room is lonely,
Blue Hotel, I was waiting only.
The night is like her lonely dream.
Blue Hotel...
Blue Hotel...
Blue Hotel, on a lonely highway,
Blue Hotel, life don't work out my way.
I wait alone each lonely night.

Chris Issac was in school at the same college I went to. They call the baby and the restbif the family ..
@DavelovesRealMusic Yes it does... but at the time I was trying to save space on the tapes because I had no money to buy new ones... and by all means, if you find a better version of this rare 24 year old video that someone has taken the time to upload and post for free on youtube, let me know, and I'll take this one down.
If cartelige WOULD have been taken from Chris's EAR, the musical world would be MUCH different today. HE knew it even back then...
I really don't understand this comment. Love Chris Isaak and he's the same age as me but wearing better.
so the guy can throw down too...ha,some people have it all
Chris is playing a Gretsch here.
I think its an old one but not sure.
@daveslovesmusic I will say "Thanks." It helps to listen with headphones. You can understand more.
