Curse of the moon 1 and 2 are classicvanias and not metroidvanias
I feel like I've played a lot of games, but I've only played 6 out of these games

Dead Cells is Roguevania according to its devs and is metroidvania also
@@quirrel1453 No it's not a metroidvania. The map is not interconnected. Once you finish a biome(level) you can't backtrack. So it's a very linear game. There are some metroidvania elements in the game but if you play it enough and get to the core of the game you'll understand it's a rouge.

I'm calling it a metroidvania, that's 5 people calling it a mv, opposed to a nobody nothing armchair critic. You were voided as soon as the dev and wiki called it that😂. As far as I know, this game is not in the metroidvania genre.
@@TopAll_Games , neither Dead Cells or Rogue Legacy. Afterlife it's 2D action with Souls elements, but feels like MV (like the two others I've mentioned...)
Deaths gambit is a definitely metroidvania, it has interconnected map, and has upgraded abilities that allow you to access new area.

How did it become bad? It should have earned the award GAME OF THE YEAR among all metroidvanias when it was released.
I FULLY AGREE WITH YOU! Aeterna Noctis should be among the Top 5 because of its Graphics, Difficulty, Platforming a metroidvania mixed with Precision Platforming, its weapons and skills, excellent level design and challenging bosses. This one is soooooo underrated! Aeterna Noctis CAN EASILY DETHRONE HOLLOW KNIGHT!
Putting Hollow Knight in 1st Place again made this video BIAS, CLOSE MINDED and A COMPLETE DISREGARD OF HOW GOOD THE OTHER NEWER METROIDVANIAS ARE! A new game could easily take 1st place!
Everybody has his opinion, but for me, Ori and the Blind Forest should be number 2, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom should be a top 10...

Si, you are telling that “side scrolling” isn’t a game genre but “metroidvania” is? Lot of games of these list were side scrolling but not Metroidvania such dead cells.

@@at_vinta6730 I'm not impressed by it. And honestly I wished I've never started on it. A few months ago I was looking to find a good metroidvana after beating monsterboy. I looked up a few of them and hollow knight kept getting a lot of praise. I tried it and was very disappointed...
