I can tell you as a large square bale farmer/custom harvester that a bale probe that tests mostiure and temp is handy. I don't need to carry two probes. The only downfall is it's not analog like yours.
@BalesHayFarmandRanch I can tell you with the bales in the field it takes a bit longer to check a bale. With our big bales I prefer to check the center more than the edges since it's more likly to have a hot spot due to it being too green. Anything over 16.5% I won't bale.

Oh man, the Pete 337 over Ford or GM on medium duty trucks all day long. 10 year old and 15 year old Pete’s. Still going strong. The Fords and GM fell apart the motor worked, but that’s it. Crappy seats, crappy dash, crappy AC, crappy doors. Talk an about junk. Those cabs are trash. From my experience anyway. Maybe if they weren’t working very hard, they would be ok?

I would think with you being in the hay business that you would have 50 hay probes, one in every vehicle and piece of equipment. No? Isn’t the moisture of the hay crucial to the end product?
They are pretty expensive. I have one. Brian has one. Manuel has one. The balers have them built into them. We have lots of them. I’m going to move over to the temp and moisture style 2024 season.

I think this one had a bad battery, and we’re swapping over to the temp ones as well. I don’t like digital as much. But I do want both capabilities.
