I have a small family, and I only grow about 5 or 6 corn. I go out early in the morning with a paper bag and shake the pollen into the bag. I bunch the silks together and just pour it, making sure pollen touches every silk. It is very easy, and I have great success. Corn silks have great health benefits.
What a genius idea
@@jackjack-bw8ks now that is a great idea! Glad you take the extra steps to make sure your silks get pollinated!
@humbleservantshomestead7974 Thank you all for responding to your subscribers. Truly Humble!
Thank you for sharing information on growing corn. I planted corn for the first time this year to see the results. Your corn looks amazing hope to get some great results. Again thank you and be blessed. 😊
Good info as always. Growing up we would eat field corn when it was young, not what everyone enjoys as "sweet corn" but we loved it. Have a blessed day.
YOUR CORN 🌽 IS GROWING BEAUTIFUL THANKS FOR SHARING #NOT A DAY WITHOUT JESUS 🙏
I solved the cross pollination issue by planting corn with different maturity dates. I usually start with a 65 day, then 85 day, and trucker's favorite a 100 day. That way I don't need to worry about succession planting. It also insures that I don't lose my entire harvest if the farmer across the street from me plants field corn.
Because I live in the south, and have long summers, if I'm really ambitious I'll replant the 65 day, after the initial planting has been harvested for a fall harvest. Unfortunately it's not always as reliable, but corn seed is pretty cheap, and it doesn't hurt to take the gamble.
What varieties of the 65 and 85 days do you get. Please and thank you
You gave the most wonderful videos 😁🥰🤗

Thank you so much, I'm still learning about corn. You are amazing and doing a great job growing crops.
I should of planted alot more.
I appreciate you both
@@naomi2646 as long as you give the ones you planted a little shake frequently you should still have good pollination.

What's the best pesticide for corn for the Florida environment?
Question, if my chicken manure is mixed with shaved pine bedding.
Will the pine shaving cause problems if I don't try to shift it out from the manure?
