Min 0:10 it's not "hey engeneer, let it echo" but "hey machine gun, fire away, let our cheer [or greeting] echo from free woods" :) It's a bit tricky, cause "mašinca" means literally "little machine", but in this context, it refers to the machine gun :) But the echo is from our cheers not from the machine gun :)
Thank you! As a speaker of a Romance language, I've been pleased to learn from this song that the noun "gospodar" was not only applied to the feudal lords of the Slavic nations, or those subjected to the Ottoman Empire (often remains untranslated in that specific sense), but also serves to designate any kind of master, even in a metaphorical way.
Hi very nice video, I hope you do not mind, here are my 2 suggestions: the line "razpodite, zatrite" should be : "drive away or chase away , crush" the line: "Hej masinca zagodi", should be: "Hey, machine gun, fire away." Otherwise the translation is very good! Greetings from Slovenia!

As a Pole, I am not communist, but communism in Yugoslavia was actually to help and unite people that is REALLY rare in communism. It was not ideal because after some time everybody wants independence for their nation, but it was proably the "best communism". Fun fact is that we, Poles, had our volunteer partisan brigade in NOVJ, that - unlike this sc*m from Armia Ludowa and Gwardia Ludowa in our homeland (Poland) - were not collaborators of our biggest enemies that was USSR, but just volunteers that couldn't get from Balkans to Poland so they could join AK or BCh, NSZ etc. so they were joining NOVJ* (NOVJ*- they were joining communist partisans most commonly, there was some to join Chetniks). Mašinca is a sub machine gun, not an engineer. My Slovene is a bit rusty, but that much I know. Plus: it does make zero sense.
Absolutely correct. ''Mašinca'' is an informal word for any small machine but in this context, it specifically refers to a machine gun.
