Also, he chose targets that were just over 18 because they’re naive like children but police can’t legally search for them like a kidnapped child. He knew that the police couldn’t look for them, therefore he “knew the laws so he could operate on the edge of them”

I'm a guy and didn't care about the makeup thing at all. Stayed for the story. This woman is a captivating story teller who doesn't try to lure in audience with creepy music and creepy visual effects. I appreciate that since those other "depressive vibe" crime story channels can get too depressive.

It's because she isn't all about the sensationalism where a lot of people use that unfortunately. Bailey also has a mind of her own and shares her actual thoughts so I feel like that is relatable.
She knew it wasn’t her daughter because “there were no spelling errors” … I felt that.
That could’ve been me. I was offered a spot in the outreach program and I gave birth at the hospital that recommended me to John Robinson and I also had a three year old boy and we had no place to go at the time. When I was given blank papers to sign, I refused. I was extremely suspicious and I decided to find my own alternative and that more than likely saved both my life and that of my little boys who of course are not little anymore. I can’t even begin to tell anyone of you how shook I am right now. I just lost both of my parents recently and was told and I am being treated by the Mayo Clinic for extra growth of white matter on my frontal lobe. So I can’t handle this extra horrific piece of information right now.

This is why my friends and I do phone tracking. We share our locations with each other and do check ins when we go out. If a friend says they are going out and don’t check in we spam call. This saved one of my friends.

My uncle who was once a homicide detective said the the waybthe kaws are set up if you conduct the investigation just a hair off of the rules when tried in the courts a lot of cases were thrown out on these technicalities. After awhile, police officers get burnt out because there's not much they can do. Their hands are tied. And back in the 80s we didnt have the technology we have today.
Or they could have been police officers who just didnt care. But not all officers are that way. They are just trying to collect enough evidence to get the bad guy.
Well, it's actually reasonable. One time, in my city, a woman was missing for a few hours. An adult woman, missing for few hours. Her family (I think it was her husband's family) was sharing things on social media right away. She was found that day, or the day later, I don't remember, in a nearby town. Completely fine. It just seems crazy to me, that you, as a 33 year old woman, are treated like a missing child by your (husband's I'm pretty sure) family. My assumption is that she was fleeing abuse tbh

He killed women that didn’t want to be found... many were homeless or on the streets or leaving bad situations. He preyed on that group of women because he knew no one would be looking for them.

Yes, a lot of people judge the families and although I think most monsters were abused, we don't know whether it was by immediate family, a relative or someone at school like a teacher or mean kids. So we should have compassion unless we know for a fact that mom or dad did horrendous things.

I have researched a lot of cases. And when someone knows a cop or is a cop they tend to get help more quickly.
Knowing her daughter didn’t write the letter because there weren’t spelling errors. Yup, My brother has a learning disability where he spells things phonetically. We would know something’s up!

I begged several local police departments, DA officers, counselors, and the courts to do something to help me get my daughter out of a situation where she was basically brainwashed. The abuse she was enduring was insane, but, she was over 18, so I couldn’t get ANY help. She’s finally been away one month today because he knocked her front teeth back up into her nasal cavity by head butting her and punched her so hard, he broke her eye socket. It was a tough four years, and at 23, she acts like someone who’s just came home from the war in the Middle East😢

@@levityoflonging22 I'm not sure if this would be helpful for you but one thing I do with my concealer that really makes the application easier aaaand gives the concealer longer lasting before it smudges off is I spray my sponge/applicator with setting spray to damp it then I dab in the spots of concealer which I had previously added. I am only 14 and this is what works for me but lmk if it works!

When I was single and dating I would write on the whiteboard by my front door where I was going, who I was meeting including phone number, and the time. I was gonna give the cops everything I could in case I went missing.

Well it's on a whiteboard so it could get wiped by someone pretty quickly. Better to text your best friend or family member so there's a more permanent piece of information, and in multiple places.
Still tho, I wouldn’t go anywhere if I thought I might go missing. Yes this means I live a less adventurous life but man, this is a terrible way to go 😔
I have an agenda for this, I write everything : adress if it's the first time I go there, the complete name of the person (mostly if it's the first time I see them alone), sometimes the phone number. And at least 2 people know where I go, who I know, and what I do. Just to be safe

absolutely. a lot of the time, this stuff is avoidable if the police literally just listen and go "oh yea, that really doesn't make sense let's figure this out." but i don't work for law enforcement in any capacity so who knows what they can and can't do, resource wise. really makes me wish there was a separate entity for things like this because the police are usually next to useless.

That city and the county it is in have an image to uphold. They've always just avoided anything that could tarnish their perfect reputation.
They become so jaded. They see people who just leave then they assume that's the case constantly. It's annoying.
This was in the 80s.. that happened a lot back then. Missing cases weren’t taken seriously unless there was evidence.. or if it was a child.. things have changed these days.

I remember an old job I worked at, they were trying to have us sign blank forms for our paychecks. It didn't make any sense. I told them that was illegal and I was willing to wait to actually read what I was signing first. I told the other people I worked with that they shouldn't sign, either. Maybe they needed signatures legitimately but I was always told not to ever sign anything blank.

Also, I watched a documentary on this maybe a year ago, and there was sooo much more info in this, and done from a completely different angle, that - while I thought Tiffany and her baby going missing seemed familiar - I had no idea that this was the same story. Loved getting all the new info. Now I want to go find the other documentary again.

He really did ruin everyone’s lives. Imagine finding out the family you were adopted by is related to the person that killed your birth parent. Imagine finding out one of your parents is living a double life that involves taking the lives of others. Imagine being scammed into thinking you will have a better life but you wind up in a situation like the victims in this video. All of this is tragic.
also imagine finding out you have a whole other extended family who has been mourning your loss and probably wants to reconnect, but they are just strangers in your eyes. How do you process that smh

This first one who had called her mom and said “he’s having me sign blank pages...” why didn’t Police dig deeper into that?!

Yeah I thought it was weird until the 4 girl were it said they were type I was like he makes them sign the paper before he types them.
Part of the issue is that she called her mother in law hysterical. Because it was the mother of the man she had divorced police wouldnt have much motivation to look into it. Because what she was saying didnt make much sense to them, it would have added to their lack of motivation to investigate
Because that would require them to actually do some work.
@@blitoris yes and no. It's less about doing work in general and more about focusing the work on the most "important" leads. During this time they wouldnt have had the resources we do now so their focus would have been on the strongest leads that made the most logical sense. Because she called someone unrelated to her and was hysterical it would follow either the mother in law was exaggerating, or that the daughter in law was just reacting to the stress of having her child's custody being threatened. They would have followed other leads such as her job or housing instead because it would have "given them more answers"

I really appreciate Bailey and other True Crime people don't try to find the "where are they now" for the victim's or perp's families and gives them space. It must be so difficult to deal with the tragedy and then be hounded and google searched for years after the fact.

Me too, and I think it’s a she. No matter of it was the 80’s when this started and people weren’t as wary of strangers as we are now, any 19-yo girl would feel way more at ease with another woman in the room, I know I would have.

I've noticed a common theme in these missing persons cases everytime the family or friends keep telling officers that it is not normal for their loved one to just vanish they still don't take it seriously. It is a little scary to know that so many missing people could have been found/saved if they would have taken it seriously.
the police are legally allowed to not do anything about literally everything it’s there “right” to not actually protect and defend

I live by Vancouver BC Canada, and between December 2020 and February 2021, 7 women between the ages of 20-30 have gone missing without a trace...
The police publicly said nothing is happening and they're not connected.. Even though women are continually saying they've noticed the same 2 vehicles and 4 same guys were following them/marking their cars, etc.
