Good commentary. It's good to see Scottie Barnes doing well. As a Cavs fan, I certainly root for Evan Mobley, but certainly Barnes is ahead of him in his offensive development.
Wemby is very good. One weakness could be drawing him out with a Barnes type player who can shoot the 3, but also quick enough to drive by Wemby. Scottie was able to do it. As well, Chet actually seems quicker than Wemby guarding the line. I do want to see Wemby vs Jokic as well. Chet did okay, and Jokic is the real test.
I think wemby needs to learn to identify better when he can defend normally and when he has to go for the block at the rim. Still even then a player that can quickly go into a midrange jumper would score regardless
wemby is very good but i’m not going to lie on 3 of his blocks those were just the dumbest shots i have ever seen someone take. when og got underneath the basket and tried to go up with wemby on his back, that’s dumb why would you take that shot? the one against Siakam he could have easily did a layup on the other side of the basket but decided to go up on the same side giving victor exactly the opportunity he needed to block the shot. wembanyama is so long and so good you can’t just take brain dead stupid shots. you got to be smart and actually think about where he is where you are and where the basket is when going up. this is no fault to wembanyama, if players are going to be stupid, hey take advantage.
Victor shuffled with the ball at the handoff and travels before he puts the ball on the deck(Around the 4minute mark). Probably would be travel if it wasn't the NBA. This guy is so skilled and has really good basketball IQ already. This is a breakout season for Scottie, especially if the Raptors stay in the playoff picture.

As someone who played point guard, I couldn't agree with you more. Having that court vision during the middle of the game is not to be understated. And it's very interesting how many players don't have any sort of comprehension of defensive schemes while the play is going on. They have no ability to adapt. They can't find the open man when they drive in, they stand absolutely still instead of cutting most of the time, basketball has very much changed

The block from behind was called a foul majority of times in the past. Sometimes when there was a clean block. Victor was on Scotty’s back . Which should have been called a foul. I think victor can do this block cleanly. But this time no. You have to had played some organized ball to know this.
Free wights and weight machines are wrong for basketball I think, there is no contact plus that makes a heavy jumping person. One arm chin ups, one arm push ups, and one leg squat look good and work right. I love Larry Bird and Kevin Mcale's no dumbbell approach I think. Super tall step back threes, super tall floaters, and super tall lay ups. What a show of power!
I am average hight so I should not be watching big man sports. I date petite women so women will say to us you can't play the game. Women have intuition and wisdom.
Wemby is great, and will continue to be great as long as he can stay healthy, but rosy longterm projections based on a strong start fail to consider the impact of players and teams becoming familiar with him and learning his weaknesses... the Raptors did it over the course of one game. Of course they have historically excelled at that aspect of the game after LeBron taught them for several years, but the rest of the league will eventually catch up, and we will see how Wemby adapts.
