thanks for the vids, khang starr. your videos are clear and straight to the point. as a first time hydroponic gardener, this was the primary video that I learned from. I now have about 10 plants that have germinated and are growing well.
Would love to have those peppers to my garden. I just started planting peppers and only few is available in my local nursery. Would love to have a variety like yours. Those white Thai, starburst and bonnets are really nice😍 and reapers too! 🌶🌶🌶
Defiantly an interesting video my friend! Especially found it interesting that you clipped the growing tip, to concentrate the energy on growing the roots? Not I for sure want to try this... hahaha! Be safe out there and thanks for the videos!
Tried that with Habanero, Hot Lemon and Jolokia they never made Roots here and then died. Currently i have a Habanero in the bottle for about 4 month and no Roots but it has Lenticells. Wondering if you put something in the Water and whats the Temperature of the Room and Water? PS: Finally i can see a small Root. Im suggesting to change the Water every 2-4 Weeks or it may start to smell. I think it took long here because i started it during Winter.
do you have a video that focuses on how you prep the nutrients ( steps to maintain the system such as keeping it at a certain water level in the containers or do we have to add nutrients as we wait for it to grow and best ways to trim them without damaging their growth especially in herbs.
Do you prefer hydro or soil? Or does it depend on the plant your growing? I would love to hear what you have to say. Maybe you could make a video over that topic. Ps I'm new and haven't seen all your videos yet so I don't know if you already did this or not
Nature is wondrous and this video brings me peace. Listening to the birds sing while Khang transplanted the peppers was a beautiful moment. Botany is life. Thank you Khang for sharing your knowledge!
It depends on the age of your plant. You will get better results if the plant is a little older. I find it very difficult to propagate pepper plants under 4 months old.
Hey Khang, I can't get my cuttings of Cayenne pepper to grow roots, they slowly die in water. Any tips? Do this work with every kind of peppers? When I do it with basil it works fine.
The key is to keep the temperature constantly at 73-75F, which is usually my room temperature. Also, they need very good lighting. I use my AeroGarden unit. Light cycle is 10 hrs per day. You can also do this outdoors, but success will be less than indoors.
I have my cuttings of cayenne in the dark bottle for 3 weeks, it still have no roots, but it had flowers and now i have 6 peppers about 1-2 cm long. It is in the grow box with temperature about 20c and i light it about 14 hours per day with led lamp. It has only water from my tap.
Nice! Do you leave that light on all day? I wish I could do this but mine doesn't like me lol... I leave them on the kitchen window gets probably like 5 hours of sun
You can cut off all leaves if you wanted to, but leave 3 or 4 of the midsize/smaller leaves around the top, cut off rest 45degree cut on bottom of stem
I tried this many times - while I'm successfull with tomatoes, it never used to work for chilis... Any hints/tips? I've seen you only covered the "tip" of the first cut, but not parts of the trunk - is THIS the secret to get it working?
Quit rooting in water! Fill the pot you want to grow them in with your preferred soil, cut the plants and stick them in, wet the soil and keep it moist. Roots need nutrients, or you stress the plant. Potting rooted plants will stress them. Rooting in water is more work, more time, more stress and poor results! PLEASE compare yourself, then replace this video with the correct way.
What do you recommend? I usually have mixed results with clones, depending on what i'm cloning. Is it best to just go straight in soil? Do you water with nutrient-rich water for the cuttings? What about light? Thank you.
@@AlvinKazu the best advice for everything, is to try to emulate nature. Find out the soil type, sun, wind, soil moisture the plant grows in. Roots uptake nutrients, no need for nutrients the first day, I use 1/2 the recommended amount when rooting, increase as needed for the type of plant. Use of the right type of rooting hormone shouldn't hurt, but may not help much. EXPERIMENT.

Very odd i think its missing the famed "allright guys"

Thank you for the video Khang! Going to try this today! Hope to get my hands on some khangstarr seeds sometime soon!
Thank you Khang you are my hot pepper *GURU*
Doesn't work

I have read of folks using aloe and kelp meal in water r cuttings....
Amazing, how simple & easy this is !
I dig the new video format, very avant-garde.
The quiet one speaks the loudest😎😎
I was about to trim a few bottom branches off my dads pepper plant today but I just left them, I might try to do this instead tomorrow.

I love your videos but I prefer it when you explain vocally.

Do you ever use any root starter? I find I have a little better success when I use some.
Mmm i gonna use a root starter then. I couldnt grow roots :(
really helpful just started cloning at my new farm... a scorpion and a chocolate ghost.
Why 2 plants in a pot? Will they stay together?
Pepper plants tend to grow well in twos.
I did the same steps with my two clones and they just sribled up and died, so it doesn't work on all pepper variaties then.!?.
varies from pepper to pepper
OMG THX SO MUCH I JUST CUTTED A FLOWERING CUTTING ON ACCIDENT AND I SAVED IT😅
This video came at the perfect time. Thank you
Wow Thank you very much for your video, you proved that, what I've been thought before is really possible🤗❤️

How easy was this ? I’m going to try taking cuttings this year ,, thankyou for the tip
Do you think it would work on leggy pepper plants if I cut the stem in half and stuck it in water,,, I might try with one of my plants

Nice! How often did you hafta change out the water?
He almost NEVER replies to people who watch or comment. Must be a very busy pepper guy.
I've tried many times with no luck, do we put them in a shaded area or by window sunlight
Enjoyed the video I'll have to try this out.
Hey Khang, I can't get my cuttings of Cayenne pepper to grow roots, they slowly die in water. Any tips? Do this work with every kind of peppers? When I do it with basil it works fine.
I had a similar issue as well. kept them in a cool area with an LED grow light. Took 2 weeks to die.
sadly pepper plants dont sprout roots that easy :( i have about a 50/50 success rate

Where would you get cuttings from if you do not live on a farm?
Walmart Home Depot? Smaller own nursery
What is the longest you have kept a single pepper plant alive? How long can a pepper plant live?
I know of people that have pepper plants that have lived for 10 years. If you properly overwinter them, standard is around 5 years.
I had a 5 year old jap plant
awesome. will try asap
Do you change water everyday or how often
just let them be when u keep shaking the plant it disturbs them.. just my experience it hinders quick roots
Nice! Do you leave that light on all day? I wish I could do this but mine doesn't like me lol... I leave them on the kitchen window gets probably like 5 hours of sun
Thanks!
Does the maturity of the plant matter on propagation quality??
I miss you talking.
So easy!
Wish he'd answered the questions! 😮😢
After how many days do you change the water?
Why do my plants start to rot before even making roots
Change water
what's the rule of thumb for how much of the leaves I cut off?
You can cut off all leaves if you wanted to, but leave 3 or 4 of the midsize/smaller leaves around the top, cut off rest 45degree cut on bottom of stem
Thanks!

@@markbaker8280 thanks - i'll give it a try with one of the overwinter-plants (that made some new trunks) :-)
Love the ASMR :)
Pepper Growing ASMR 😁
I think the secret is the spoon!
👍super
Do you do anything special? My attempts to propagate peppers failed 97% of the time.
Guillaume Landry-Voyer 100% for me.
Try using a rooting hormone on the cut ends. Garden Safe TakeRoot is what I use.
👍🏽👍🏽
easy money you must of got tired of me asking lol

poor little plants, your hurting them, and did you ask them if they wanted to be propagated

No
