  • Hey Folks and to all my American Friends Happy 4th of July! Today I am reviewing the Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch A123. This bourbon was sent to me from my buddy The Whiskey Shaman. This bourbon is a great expression from Heaven Hills and packs a real punch of flavours and development. I'll sample it and give you my thoughts. Stop by and join me for a dram! Cheers!

This is a delicious Elijah Craig Bourbon! I am a mega peat head but I also love a dram of this awesome bourbon! Not for the faint of heart - I proofed down with a tiny bit of water - definitely prefer good scotch - but hey alternative spirits are fun and this is a terrific bourbon! 🙂Great review! I enjoy your channel so much!! Thanks!! 🙂

Good review. I have this batch and it is pretty good. Not sure what you think should be added to the bottle in the way of marketing, ECBP bottles are usually cleaned off the shelves wherever they land and the reviews are endless online. Cheers!

Thanks for the comment Peter! A few recommendations to them would be to add some lore around EC for how he pioneered the use of charred oak barrels. Its a pretty cool fact that should be noted on the packaging IMO. Even some marketing stuff about Heaven Hills, just something to fill the space. A minor complaint on an otherwise exceptional expression. Thanks again!

So...when are you putting on the new addition at your place, to house the ever expanding bottle load? 🤔
Yep! Collection 'creep' IS a thing. 😂
EC BP is great stuff, but it's available so rarely and the price is really getting up there. The standard SB release is pretty good too. Even though it's a lower ABV at 47%, it's also less than half the cost (about $75 cheaper).
That being said, how fantastic to receive the BP as a gift from a friend!
    Interesting glass.
    Enjoyed the review, cheers Ty...🥃

@@SeawayWhiskyWire One of my faves is Four Roses Single Barrel. Not what I would classify as a sweet bourbon and, as primarily a Scotch drinker, I find it has a nice complexity. Priced right as well.
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is another tasty dram (in my opinion), though reviews seem to be a little mixed.
