@@amithmkini Just set the difficulty and leth will become that level of skill but make zero mistakes lol. But it’s fun to watch, it’s like an nba or nfl player doing a play by play. Even the small details that leth mentions are super helpful even if I’m not playing in champ 3 yet

Tarzan is not a good teammate imo. He’s the type who throws off the rotation to cut for no good reason which causes confusion and leaves our net wide open for a goal.

Yea both Tarzan and Scrub were pretty chasey players. At least in the beginning. Seems like T gave Leth much more space once he realized the guy can actually play. Can't really blame T if they were a bit tilted after playing 2 games with Scrub

I come home late from work, just want to relax and play my favorite game. Warm up in training, get in ranked, hands still cold. We get a bad start, down by 2 goals. Teammate already toxic and blames it on me. I'm not that bad, but still sorry, i'm trying my best. He tries to ff but my hope is not gone. I'm sweating for my life and we tie it up, then we get the lead, teammate still toxic everytime i don't triple flipreset without boost, like he would have done.
Meanwhile we are 4:2 up with 60 seconds left. I type:" Sorry but we could have won this."

Fun fact: you need to hit 1435 mmr to get to GC 1 in 2s. C3 Div 4 starts at around 1400 mmr. Since you gain on average about 10 mmr per win you will need 3-4 wins to cover that difference.

I had the most perfect toxic teammate the other day. Whiffed a million balls, as soon as I whiffed one he just spammed in chat. I took a ball from him where I had a better opportunity and he ff'd while we were up 3. I scored that ball then conceded the game. Matched against them next match and me and my much more friendly teammate killed them
Its crazy how you can play so slow and with so few mechanics and still win. Im definitely going to apply this to my games

I never understood "you're so bad" comments from the losing team. It's like, okay, so you lost to a bad player? Is that really the burn you think it is?
I think it's a dig on the ego. Its like saying "you haven't achieved mastery, you could have just as easily lost" which causes people to lose composure. Because for most people, it's true, and they don't want to accept that.
Yeah saying they were the dumbest players makes no sense. So they were making braindead plays and you still couldn't do anything about it?
Same with the "zero mechs" comment. Like yea I didn't have to break anything fancy out to hand you your own ass, sick burn.

Rocket league is one of those games to where even if MY teammate is being toxic, I'm already against them. Not that i will throw or anything, but I'll definitely go out of my way to say "hey sorry for my teammate, he must be upsetty spaghetti or something".
If it was any other game I'd be the one being toxic, but in Rocket League I'm only toxic if someone is toxic first and i normally want to have a fun respectful game that you can enjoy even if youre losing.

Regarding 4:00 ; so i do agree mostly, and ofc there are teammates that for some reason your resonate with very well in terms of playstlye and some where you dont but what i‘ve noticed is that good players, no matter if i dont play well with them as a team or were both more solo, will always find a way to still win and accomodate each other‘s playstlyes. I can also adapt so some more… unskilled teammates most of the time but if they are just not doing their part you will loose at the latest in OT. Oftentimes you expect a too high level of play but the argument i make is that the opponents will always hitt hose touches and get there so we have to at least BOTH match them to even have a chance at winning. A 1v2 is just not winnable for me if the player level is high enough where each player is still beatable easily but they work together whereas i have to carry an absolute failure of a player.
I domt get why the game does this maybe due to stats or they have an insane winning streak? Idk it always seems to be me + trash (sorry) player vs two either good or very good opponents. Is there some hidden MMR feature i dont know of bc i really cant explain why tbh.

I think that even even if you try to adapt and mechanically act like the rank you are playing, there is one move that you still use as it was normal, but it makes a enormous difference (and contributes to have always have the game under control).. the move is your constantly switching the ballcam on and off in order to read anything better at the right moment.. almost all the players until GC2 maybe even SSL don't learn that... don't tell me I cannot see your secrets.. 😂

I get called out by opponents for not having "mechanics" a lot, because it's true, I don't have what most people consider "mechanics". I'm not good at air dribbling, speed flipping or even getting consistent flicks. But I'm in champ because I play positionally and patiently, and in free play/training I focus on practicing fundamentals like shot placement, backboard defense, grounded ball control. it's crazy how many players think that getting good at flashy mechanics will help them improve from plat or diamond, when they neglect fundamentals. If I cared about reaching GC I'd work more on those kinds of things, because at a certain point it does help, but I don't have the time to put in and I like playing the way I play. And if somebody gets tilted thinking they should be better than me just because they know how to flip reset and I don't, I let the score do the talking.

I'm in champ 1 div 4 and your lobbies really look the same as mine. Just everyone is more confident and there's less hesitation; even the speed of the game is the same. Obviously I don't think i belong in C3div4, I'll need to improve my first touches, mechs and awareness; but it's insane to think about.

facts. Those C3s give me nightmares. Even though i'm GC3, it's hard to read them and they play just as fast as me. The only difference is my defense is far better than theirs.

Hey leth genuine question, if you find yourself in a match with a player that plays a bit more reserved, and you yourself have a similiar playstyle, how did you over come the hesitation that come with switching to a more aggresive playstyle? or is it more of an idea of having confidence in yourself and your own skills when pushing for balls you wouldnt normally
Develop multiple play styles. You'll need them in the long run anyway. Find ways to get them to engage more. In low ranks, give them a nudge to get them out of the net. As the skill level goes up, set up plays for them to finish. And at higher levels you'll need passing plays so they need to know to engage Mavrick!
@@bltsammich9760 i pretty much do that but it ussaully leads to me whiffing alot more cause I feel like a cant take my time and be patient. im in d1 and me and my mate do simple passing plays (even in doubles cause most people expect a direct shot) but its a million times rarer that some one in solo q 3's is in the right position to recieve it. either way to close (which i would usually play a bit more reserved) or way to far (the type of player i have trouble playing around) (although if i get one of each that usaully are pretty fun to play in)
(thes are mainly games where i feel i could have done better playing around teamates, there are still games where i get carried, i dont think im the goat)
