Groceries such as food, and going out to eat has become more expensive here in Buenos Aires. Other things are still drastuc cheaper than most of the modern world.
Either way, although cost of living is important. I find the quality of life here to be very enjoyable. People are warm, welcoming and fun. It's easy to socialize and interact with locals. Plus many of them know basic English and there's also tons of foreigners living here.
Thanks for reading/watching.
I uploaded a full video showing my apartment building

Hello, I'm a local. I want to say that you are welcome to Argentina 🇦🇷♥️ I am from Patagonia and for the owner of the channel I want to say, yes, here in the winter it is cold, but the season is very respected, so in the summer it is very hot. Argentina is the eighth largest country in the world so they have many landscapes and places to see and be amazed. I hope that those who want to live or visit will have a very good stay. I wish you all luck.
Oh wow! Patagonia is absolutely beautiful. Argentina has everything, it is an beautiful country from top to bottom.
Appreciate your videos,I'll be visiting in about week and a half, stay in Villa Crespo and then maybe recoleta for a different vibe(?). Looking for a residential but cool vibe with access to public transit..can you do a video with cool things to do? You said something about a cool language exchange in Palermo on certain days...keep them videos up!
@maltagoya2 yes will do one soon. Look up Mundo Lingo on ig or on google, they have weekly events.
The MeetUp app is also used here to find events
@@EXPATditionspreciate u! I'm going to look at your remittly link too!
@maltagoya2 awesome Remitly gives you more than Blue rate and no fees. Great option for first time. I use it a few times a month.

Love your apartment setup! It has such great sunlight and a beautiful view! Thanks for all your great advice on living in Buenos Aires.
Thanks for watching and I appreciate the comment. I got lucky with this apartment, and it came fully furnished.
VERY informative!🌹Thank you!☘️
Thanks for watching, really enjoy the feedback.
Made this other video recently on the cost of living.

@@EXPATditions Thank you!🌼☘️🌼
Thank you for these videos, they are very useful and informative. I live in Sweden with my family but we feel adventurous and are currently looking for options. I work remotely so I can live wherever. Argentina is very fascinating. Cheers!
You would love it, met a couple from Sweden recently that purchased a property in Mendoza. They came to live here with their kids.
It's a lovely place but too cold for me, although perfect weather a few months.
Thanks a lot for amazing information 🎉
So nice of you, glad you found it helpful. Have a great start to your week
Hey thanks for your video and information it’s very much appreciated; I am looking for a place to go during the summer in North America so cooler climate and great food and fantastic city and inexpensive to spend 6 months a year ; this looks like the spot to check out in June…..thanks again Josef 🙏🙏🙏😎
Thanks for the comment, you absolutely found the spot. Argentina hits all of those checkmarks.
It's pretty cool here from June till October but lots of people like it.
I on the other hand was raised in hot and humid weather so I'm not used to living in the cold.
great information..thank you !!
Glad it was helpful!, thanks for the support
I booked my trip to Buenos Aires in October for 10 days, first time going out of the country (USA)!! Looking forward to exploring the city!!!
Congratulations, you're going to have a great time. So much to do. I'd bring a sweater since it's still a bit breezy cool in October.
Luv the lay out; keep up the good work
Awesome thank you, have a great weekend.
I moved from a house to a studio apartment at one point in my life. I thought I would feel cramped at first but I stayed there for a couple of years and I just started to feel it was cozy and very home-y. I still miss it.
I agree with you, I had a similar experience before. I didn't like my first studio and thought I needed more space. But I just needed less things and to organize everything better.
Heading for barrio Saavedra on Monday for a month. I had a DNI in 1986. I was surprised to see the DNI does not expire 😮
That's Great to know. A DNI is the best. I recommend you download the Mercado Pago app, it has tons of uses and you can use it as a virtual wallet to pay for items all over Argentina.
That's a nice neighborhood, a little far from everything but not to bad. Basically 30 mins or less and you're in the mix.
You're closer to Belgrano's Chinatown. Make sure to check it out during the weekdays, weekends get too hectic.
Thanks buddy. I used to teach 38 years ago in Colegio San Brenda's in Belgrano R 😊
Love it ... From CDMX
Oh nice, everyone loves CDMX. I went to Mexico 4 different times but to the Caribbean side or across the border to Tijuana. Thanks for the love
Thanks for your informative presentation. I enjoy your presentation.
Thanks so much, uploading a few new videos this week. Please subscribe if you haven't that way you don't miss them . 🙈🤠🙌
We are currently in Guatemala’s second largest city, Quetzaltenango….haircut is $2. Our total bills without a budget, run about $1100/month as a couple. We are at almost 8000 feet so highs around 70-74 and lows 45-50, perfect.
But, we aren’t finished traveling and BA is on our list. We also hope to visit Mar Del Plata and Bariloche.
Love your channel !
Awesome I would love to visit Guatemala. How are the beaches?
I wasn't too far away last year, I stayed for 2 months in San Andrés. It's a little Colombian island in the Caribbean.
Bariloche is one of the prettiest places in Argentina, well most cities along la ruta/route 40.
Argentina is the 8th biggest country in the world, it has basically everything except for warm beaches 😆
Haven’t made it to any beaches yet. Soon we will go visit lake Atitlan, maybe the most beautiful lake in the world.
We can’t wait to visit Argentina !
Hello and good morning, thank you so much for your content. I lived in Homestead Florida so I hear ya on the pricing in Miami area. Listen I have a question relative to the chiropractor and additonal services. I suffer from I wouldn't say chronic but occassional issues with my lower back to include neck/traps/shoulder issues and do chiropractic adjustments to keep me on the level and I am currently in Brazil but will be coming to Buenos Aires in the very near future and will be needing a chiropractor when I get there. I love the fact that Massages and Cupping is also done for the blood flow to the injured/affected area which really does help. Can you provide the Chiropractors name and address so that when I do get there I can set up scheduling? Thank you so much and great work on your channel....regards!
Hi thanks so much for your detailed comment. I never thought I would say this, but I miss homestead. Especially since in some parts it's just large fields of grass. Way too many buildings here in Buenos Aires.
Lookup QuiroMasaje LB. Very knowledgeable and great adjustments.
I contact him through Wpp.

@@EXPATditions Thank you so much, yeah I had a home there just off the toll and about a mile from the Homestead Speedway. Yes lots of open fields although new subdivisions are bridging that gap very quickly. I should be in Argentina in late November and plan to do some trekking in Patagonia and visit the indigenous area around Salta/Jujuy and make my way to Iguazu Falls before heading to Buenos Aires.
@@EXPATditions Hey I have another question please. When you make reference to Remitly and $25 discount, is this everytime you withdraw money or just a one-time thing from using your link? Thanks.
@@robertofarias8997 hi it's just the first time referral bonus. Besides it now dropped to $10 but they still give a better rate then the official rate.
Hi. Love your channel! Are Airbnbs and hotels less expensive during winter months?
Could be, I'm usually not in town during winter months. But if you plan on staying longer than a month you can find better deals on zonaprop or in fb rental groups.
15:22 Hablas un excelente Español argentino, felicitaciones bro! 🙂
Y sí, es totalmente correcto. La propina no es obligatoria aquí, excepto en algunos pocos restaurantes fancy. En todos los demás servicios es voluntaria hasta donde yo sé.
Me alegro todo siga bien por ahí.
Saludos.
Muchísimas gracias me alegro. Yo aprendí español en Miami pero mejore muchísimo acá.
How did you hurt your back? I stopped weight lifting when I was 59 1/2 cuz I had stress fractures in my back….probably from pounding in metal stakes into the ground with a sledge hammer…want to start lifting again but smaller weights …but ya, how did you get a herniated disc? Not from lifting groceries I hope 😅 ✝️🙏. I will pray for your back my friend.
Argentine politics have taken a crazy turn in the last few months. Check out my channel for some news and views by an outsider on the inside.
May I ask what neighborhood you live in and if it has any problems with flooding recently?
I love your videos.
Great question, last month it rained for a few days straight and there was some flooding around Buenos Aires. Nothing too major and everything was fixed in a timely matter.
Luckily my neighborhood of Almagro wasn't affected much.
Hi, Im from Buenos Aires and, I will be traveling for a long time, so my apartment in Palermo will be available for rent if anybody is looking for a similar apartment to stay. Just contact me!
Hi send me the details. I can find you a tenant to rent your apt.
Thisistheyear2023@gmail.com
@@EXPATditions Great will send you details. Gracias
Does buenos aires have a lot of free or low cost things to do? Specials?
Yes definitely, will make some suggestions later.
Do you hear people walking above you in your apartment? Hear them through your walls?
Luckily I have no neighbors, on the sides. But my upstairs neighbors could be very noisy especially walking loud. I've gotten used to it though.
Have you figured out approximately how much you spend monthly....your total monthly expense ? Thanks very much !
I spend around $1000 a month maximum. With everything included, eating out, apartment, phone, ubers, drinks and entertainment.
California Haircut $25 plus $5 tip=$30. Crazy 🤪
That's crazy, here $5-6 tops. And it used to be cheaper.
Looks like the condo i live by duorago station
Where's that at? Dorego or Durango?
@@EXPATditions Durango
What neighborhood are you in ?
We keep hearing that visa’s are easy, that you can do a border run or just overstay your visa and pay a $50 fine ?
Thx !
I'm near Caballito.
The fine is less than $10
And I know of people that have gotten the fine year after year and had no problem re-entering.
You can also do a boarder run like you said. Some people take the ferry to Uruguay and return the same day.
I used to do the Uruguay trip going for a long weekend but now I return to Scotland. I feel uncomfortable overstaying and paying fines. Great view and good information. Seems you have a great landlord
@expathaggis yes my landlord is pretty great. I got lucky because some can be a pain.
The fine is around $8-$12 usd if I'm not mistaken.
I've heard it's not a problem even if you do it often. I also heard that some customs agents dislike when you make a visa run, like heading to Uruguay for a day.
End of the day they really don't deny your entry into Argentina.
That sounds great. I hate doing border runs.
Im interested in renting an apartment in buenos aires and paying six month rant in advance could recommend a place within a similar prince range that you idea ?
When are you arriving?
You don't have to pay 6 months in advance. Most temporary rental contracts are priced in dollar's so they will not increase in value.
Most places ask for first month, last month and security deposit. Some just ask for first month and security deposit.
I found my apt in Zonaprop dot com
@@EXPATditions Thank you for the detailed information . I plan to leave by mid - June and stay six months .Definitely will contact you too
Bro I live in San Diego! California. I pay 40-50 dollars for a haircut every time ! You’re lucky to pay 20. 😂
That's insane. I will just cut my own hair. Here haircuts are $4-$6 dollars and no one really tips. I always tip since I grew up in the US.
@@EXPATditions let’s chill man when I cruise down there? You play soccer? ⚽️
Nice haircut man! haha I paid 3,800 pesos for a haircut a month ago. It's the same amount that I give for a tip here in the US. Crazy!
Where can I get a $400/mo apartment? I stayed in Recoleta, Palermo Soho during my stay there. I like Recoleta but I found the prices from the bodegas/grocery stores to be more expensive. But overall, BA is still cheap to stay!
Yea it's crazy, a tip in the USA would cost a meal or haircut here in Argentina.
I found my apt on zonaprop. Direct with owner and no commission.
You can also look on mercado libre.
Thanks for the info. I’ll look into those sites the next time I go there, hopefully this year! I got bitten by the BA/Argentina bug because of the low cost of living and the way of life!
@@donlacaya4323 yea me too, it just makes a ton of sense to be here. And I find myself happier and more social here. Locals are kind and very sane. Where in the US are you?
@@EXPATditions I'm in Indianapolis. I forgot to mention that I love the weather there too (I was so happy that I could wear shorts all day when I was there! lol). Are you a native Spanish speaker? I heard you speak Spanish. I'm still learning it..and have a long way to go!
@@donlacaya4323 oh nice, yeah the weather here is great. A bit too cold for me in winter since I'm from Florida. But very pleasant from people with snowy winters.
I grew up in Miami, so I had no choice but to learn Spanish.
I got better here in Argentina.
Brother this is which area. I need 2 bed apartment same place where pool and gym will be there kindly guide me
I'm in the Almagro area
great video. I can get a cheaper haircut from my mom though
Hahaha so true. Haircuts here used to be $3 last year. Now they've doubled to $6 plus I always tip
I enjoy your channel. I am from Hialeah Fl👍. I AM CUBAN BORN I CURRENTLY LIVE IN INDIANA, LOOKING TO MOVE TO ARGENTINA. I WOULD APPRECIATE U REACHING OUT TO ME FOR INFORMATION ON MY MOVE…
What a small world. I lived in Hialeah most of my life. I grew up in East Hialeah.
My first job was at Hialeah Speedway.
NY Long Island 40-50$ for a fade with a beard.
That's insane. I would just grow out my hair. If you need an assistant I have someone for $8 an hour
First time in Buenos Aires. Retired couple visiting for a couple of months checking off the bucket list. Do you have any advice on transportation from EZE to Almagra. I was thinking UBER as we have bags. I believe it’s quite a distance from the airport.
Love your videos have been really helpful in researching Buenos Aires!
They offer transport at the airport. But I usually take uber or have friends pick me up. I will see if I can find a transport service.
Thankyou!
Great info for travelers. Sorry we will miss the summer. But love the fall just as much.
@@OAPtraveler that's great, I'm just scared of very cold winters. Especially since I spent most of my life in warm South Florida. I know most Canadians and New Yorkers love the winter in Argentina.
@@OAPtraveler great idea, I will do that soon. Take a look at this video.

We live in Almagro and my wife is Argentine. I think a remis is around 10,000 to 12,000 pesos which includes the toll fees on motorway. I return sometime in June and good to meet up…Great place to go in Almagro is Los Orientales…..we also like El Fuelle which is on the opposite side of block from Las Violetas
