This film was the first time I heard this song. It's a great march. I love this arrangement. Barry Lyndon is one of my favorite films. The cinematography is so lush! Costumes are great even if the acting is lackluster.
I just watched this magnificent film again, and I truly witnessed how beautiful it is in every single way. There is happiness, sadness, despair, struggle, joy. Everything, it doesn’t leave anything out. And I always wonder, how does the great Stanley Kubrick always not only direct his films wonderfully, but also is able to find the perfect music to match his films every single time. How beautiful old cinema is
With the powerful and beefy kettle drums, this version of Hohenfriedberger March is the very best I've ever heard -- and by far my favorite. Now to me, every other version is really ho-hum.
