How lucky was I - I got to see a live taping of this episode in NY! It also featured The Animals and Jay and the Americans. They were all fantastic, but it was Dusty who captured my heart. Her gown was mostly orange I think, and I remember seeing the special effects of the blurry edges on the monitors and I wondered if they put Vaseline on the camera lens! But then I was drawn into the song and overwhelmed with emotion. She did it to perfection. A treasured memory and my initial discovery of an artist with whom I am smitten to this day.

Thanks! I remember Sammy Davis Jr's two young children were running up and down the aisles in the audience while their Dad was rehearsing onstage. The friend I came with, who was not paying attention, almost ran into one of them. I am SO happy you posted this. I bought a Hullabaloo DVD years ago just to see this episode and Dusty's number especially, but the image quality was very blurry. I figured it was the best copy in existence. And now to see THIS one! I am Joyful! Thank you again.

Did they tape this at NBC studios in Brooklyn where they also taped Mitch Miller or at Rock Center?
Dusty and Sammy were a joy to watch here. I remember this show when I was 11-12 years old in the mid-1960s.

@@dg1006 Interesting. I am almost positive the studio was in Manhattan, but I don't know exactly where. Yes, such a joy! Years later in LA, I had a couple of lines with Eric Burdon of The Animals in a movie called Comeback. Just watched Dusty do this song again - got chills! She was AMAZING!

@@samburkes7552 Yes, I certainly was! I loved being there. Such great talents, one after another! Even as a kid, I knew I was seeing quality. Especially Dusty, but they were all fantastic.

This was a B side that should have been an A side. It was far far too good to be a B side. I don’t know who’s decision it was, Dusty didn’t have the same control then that she went to acquire in future years, but it was a major faux pas. It became obvious when Dusty took control, if you were a great fan, you could hear how her vocals changed as well as the arrangements. Listen to Some of Your Lovin’ and you’ll hear what I mean. Record producers and musical arrangers were in awe of this lady. She really wasn’t difficult as some might say, just a perfectionist and the results of that perfection is the wonderful legacy she left behind. Truly a one off👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
