    I think a super brief section on the option of ski/binding crampons would have been a great addition especially for those colder icy days on steeper sections. Probably beyond the scope of people just starting out, but something that might be valuable in other videos. Apart from that, it's great how you guys and gals manage to stay perfectly on script and side step all the little pitfalls. Awesome Video again Salomon, straight to the the point. ✨🎿💖🤘

    Does a ski crampon just fit into a shift binding as per a tech binding?

    Legit watched a guy futz with the shift binding on his skis for full 5 minutes at the bottom of the Summer Road before starting to skin up with brakes still down until his buddy mentioned it. This year is gonna be tough...

    Working at a ski area, I keep seeing people with Shift bindings and the front toe lever is not locked down all the way. I'm guessing this is not recommended. What is the risk in skiing the binding like that? Also, more importantly, is this binding an Autobot or Decepticon?

    The more you use a skin saver... the longer your glue will last on your skins. Coltex, Pomoca whatever... it's manufacturer recommended. Cheers!

    czcams.com/video/tJXVIl2yvKE/video.html Hey Drew, have you tried unclipping the top buckles completely and undoing the power strap? Try it out, that's what we do. It will give you even more range of motion, for an even longer stride, thus making you the efficiency master on the uphill.

    Where is that shift mounted on the qst106? Recommended or more forward?

    • @DrewPetersenSki
      @DrewPetersenSki Před 3 lety +1

      I mount mine 1 cm forward from recommended. That seems to be my personal sweet spot on it!

    • @jeffspicoli2643
      @jeffspicoli2643 Před 3 lety +1

      I ski the 99/188 on patrol. I bring the 106/188 out on powder days only really. I'm surprised when I do... same length ski, just looks, and feels like it's a bit shorter due to the rise in the tip. I mount on the recommended. So, I don't know how I feel about mounting forward. Just my thought...

    I damaged my ski bumping the snow out of my bindings

    • @samsonian

      I know it’s a dreaded piece of extra gear, but a mini hand whisk broom or such gets the job done with no risk to equipment...I apologize if I’m being Capt Obvious, I tend to do that in my offer of help. Cheers!

    Drew Petersen: I have several important things that will improve your skin application and removal presentation greatly. I have 45+ years of climbing skin experience. I just reached out to friend you on FB. Perhaps we can communicate on Messenger then maybe Face Time.
