- In the Fifth Episode of The Best Star Wars Character of All Time Series, I go over the "The Resilient Leader", Leia Organa. In this Leia Organa Character Analysis, I talk about the qualities and events that make Leia Organa such a special character in the Original Trilogy.
I'm sure everyone has someone they picture as the Best Star Wars Character, and I know I have quite a few. My goal in this Star Wars Video Essay is to show how many great characters there are and why any one of them could be considered the greatest star wars character of all time.

Leia was really ahead of her time. She defied the traditional "princess" archetype and became a respected feminist cinema icon.
Which makes it even more despicable when she got targeted by feminists for being a bad role model because she wore a bikini in one of the movies, and occasionally needed rescuing.
@@IPA300 Nobody ever said she was a bad role model. There were just a few people who overreacted over the bikini because they missed how it serves to empower her.

I wish we had gotten to see more of Leia's leadership, but her own personality shows what makes her a great leader. She risks herself for her cause. She takes the actions that lead to the greatest good. She knows when to be stoic, when to be emotional. When to comfort, when to be stern. She always finds a way to take the initiative even when it's taken from her in the first place.
Leia's arc is one of finding yourself and your own personal needs. She succeeds where her parents failed by not only rebuilding her cause, but also her family. Anakin and Padme's weaknesses were their inability to make both personal lives and professional lives both succeed. Leia ultimately does both- she finds love, finds a family, all while keeping herself on the front lines and providing leadership and guidance through personal example and selflessness.
It’s so nice to recognize the women in Star Wars too- especially in an in depth way that highlights their strength and the importance of their presence! 🙏🏾
Not to mention that their roles - especially Padme and Leia - are far more powerful and unique as women, despite the number of women being less than the number of men in the saga (something that the new soulless Disney movies try to force in, thus making the women’s roles less unique)

Neat. The 'my hands are dirty' sounds like it's about their mutual guilt for past mistakes. She basically says I'm flawed, and he says I'm flawed too what of it? Good example of good dialogue right there. It's not so complex it will go over most viewers heads, but just enough to make someone think they're smart for catching it. 😄
This is outstanding. Goodness gracious me, the original trilogy was so great. Great work on these.
It's allways funny to me that in the movie Leia mocks Tarkin for his accent but in real she talked like that by accident since she had spent six months with brittish actors and their talk had rub off on her

Loved this!! Really shows us the OT from Leia’s perspective and shows us her importance as the key to the Rebel victory over the Empire.
Leia is vibrant, intelligent, brave and believable. Those traits make her the sexiest Star Wars female character as well.
3:53 I totally agree, the Stormtroopers definitely are the heroes of Star Wars.
